Brundle snapt niets van nieuwe kwalificatie opzet

Als het aan Martin Brundle ligt, blijft de kwalificatie in de Formule 1 nog even zoals het nu is. Dat zegt de voormalig coureur en huidig commentator tegen de Morning Star.

“Van alle dingen die ik zou willen veranderen, is de kwalificatie wel het laatste en juist dat gaat nu op de schop”, aldus Brundle. “Op hoog niveau wordt er overlegd over een nieuwe opzet, zonder na te vragen wat de teams en coureurs ervan vinden.”

Brundle wordt gesteund door McLaren-Honda coureurs Fernando Alonso en Jenson Button. “Het aantal toeschouwers wordt minder, dus is het logisch om veranderingen toe te passen. Maar sommige dingen gaan wel ver, zoals de opzet van de kwalificatie. Die wordt veel complexer dan die van nu. Daarmee trekken we de fans echt niet naar het circuit”, aldus Alonso.

Button reageerde wat milder dan zijn teamgenoot. “Zelf rij ik inmiddels al een aantal jaar mee, maar de nieuwe kwalificatie komt op mij wat verwarrend over. Ik denk dat iedereen begrijpt dat er een hoop dingen moeten veranderen in de Formule 1. Het is goed dat er constant wordt gekeken hoe het verbeterd kan worden. Ik hoop dat de fans dat ook snappen.”

Dit veranderen is ook niet nodig, heb er nog maar weinig gelezen die het wel zien zitten en het meren deel van de piloten hebben ook grote twijfels en ze hebben er zelfs nooit achter gevraagd. dus afvoeren voor het bestaat!

    Dit veranderen is ook niet nodig, heb er nog maar weinig gelezen die het wel zien zitten en het meren deel van de piloten hebben ook grote twijfels en ze hebben er zelfs nooit achter gevraagd. dus afvoeren voor het bestaat!

      Helemaal met je eens Louc, dat ze die token beperking maar weghalen en brandstof tanken maar weer invoeren. En al die vermalledijde regels afschaffen... Dan heb je pas een vrije race sport die weer tot ieders verbeelding spreekt... En bloed sneller kan doen stromen

      Eens over de kwalificatie, tanken hoeft nog niet direct van mij, maar als ze gewoon alleen al zouden zeggen 6 motoren en geen max fuel of max fuel flow. Dan kan je nog steeds met deze motoren een stuk mooier spektakel neerzetten en ook meer lawaai maken, want ze mogen gewoon 15000 toeren maken deze motoren, in de praktijk doen ze dat niet, eerder 12 duizend want het kost teveel brandstof. En die toeren maken nu juist het verschil ook bij geluidsproductie....

    Eens met Brundle, er is wat mij betreft weinig mis aan de huidige opzet van de kwalificatie. Ik heb ook het gevoel dat het puur uit de mouw van de FIA komt en dat de teams/courerus er niet om gevraagd hebben. De fans in ieder geval niet.

    Zoals ik al eerder aangaf, maak er een shoutout van! Elke week een loting welke coureurs tegen elkaar 3 ronden de tijd hebben om de snelste tijd er neer te zetten. En aan de hand van de tijden van alle gereden shootouts wordt de startopstelling gemaakt.

    Lees in de mainstream media het gerucht dat het nieuwe systeem toch in Melbourne gebruikt gaat worden. Althans voor Q1 & Q2, Q3 zou volgens het 'oude' systeem worden verreden. Alleen is Q3 dan met 8 coureurs ipv 10. Of dat voor het hele seizoen zo geldt staat er niet bij.

    Alsjeblieft, gaat gewoon terug naar 1 uur en 12 ronden. Maar verplicht iedere rijder om ook die 12 ronden te rijden. Mits de wagen aantoonbaar kapot is, controle door de Fia.

    Ze hebben in het middenveld eigenlijk maar 1 goed setje banden per kwalificatie sessie, en nu moeten ze dus vrij snel hun goede tijd zetten, dat lijkt me dan ook vrij saai.

    Eerst bouwde de spanning juist mooi op naar het einde van een sessie toe, en vanaf nu dus kijken naar tijd die verstrijkt...?

    De huidige quali vind ik saai, weinig auto's op de baan, vooral aan het begin. Dus dit is misschien een verbetering. Aangezien ze aan de motorformule niks doen is dit misschien een manier om iets van spanning terug te brengen. Persoonlijk vind ik een hotlap het leukste. 1 ronde waarin alles perfect moet gaan. Spannend voor iedere coureur!

      @Maximiliaan, dat hebben ze eerder al eens geprobeerd en was nog veel saaier. De snelste wagens kwamen als laatste, en dat terwijl de baan steeds sneller werd. Iedere wagen in de top kwalificeerde zich steeds redelijk waar je 'm ook verwachten zou (hooguit een plaatsje verschil), je wist dus van te voren wel hoe het zou gaan.
