Nieuwe racedatum gunstig voor kaartverkoop Valencia

De Grand Prix van Europa in Valencia vindt dit jaar voor het eerst in juni plaats. De afgelopen twee jaar stond de race in augustus geprogrammeerd. De nieuwe racedatum pakt gunstig uit voor de kaartverkoop, al zal het bezoekersaantal van komend weekend niet kunnen tippen aan dat van de eerste keer, in 2008.

Dat meldt promotor Jorge Martinez Aspar in de Spaanse krant AS. Qua kaartverkoop zitten we al ver boven het aantal van vorig jaar. Er zullen niet zoveel mensen komen als tijdens onze eerste Grand Prix in 2008, maar het zal wel veel beter bezet zijn dan in 2009. Bernie Ecclestone voegde in El Mundo toe: De stad zet zich enorm voor de race in, maar ze hebben nog een lange weg te gaan. De nieuwe racedatum helpt bij de kaartverkoop en de overstap van Fernando Alonso naar Ferrari zal ook wel bijdragen.
