Sainz "Verzoeningsgesprek met Max niet nodig"

Scuderia Toro Rosso-coureur Carlos Sainz heeft geen problemen met Max Verstappen. Dat heeft de Spanjaard in Bahrein nogmaals herhaald. De gemoederen liepen in Australië hoog op binnen Toro Rosso, maar dat was meer tussen het team en Verstappen dan tussen de twee rijders. Hoe dan ook, Sainz neemt Verstappen weinig tot niets kwalijk.

"Het is niet ideaal om iemand achter je te hebben die vraagt om erlangs gelaten te worden en beweert dat hij sneller is, terwijl dat niet waar was", begint de Spanjaard. "Uiteindelijk kan ik niet klagen over Max en hij niet over mij. Het was meer iets tussen hem en het team. Ik denk niet dat hij problemen met mij heeft, ik heb ook geen problemen met hem."

"Een verzoeningsgesprek is wat mij betreft niet nodig, ik heb niets om op te helderen. Hij zal met het team bespreken wat er mis ging met zijn strategie en zijn pitstop. Max raakte me nog wel een keer van achteren. Gelukkig liep dat goed af, anders hadden we wel wat te bepraten gehad. Maar nu hebben we elkaar niets misdaan, voor mij is de kous af."

"In januari hebben we bij interne vergaderingen afgesproken dat wanneer we op dezelfde strategie en dezelfde banden zouden staan, er geen teamorders zouden gelden. We zijn vrij om met elkaar de strijd aan te gaan en om te doen wat we willen. Uiteraard wel met respect voor elkaar, we mogen niet uit het oog verliezen dat we teamgenoten zijn."

Intern is het al lang weer opgelost, alleen de media blaast dit verhaal gigantisch op.

    Ik hoop dat Bahrein goed verloopt voor beide rijders, en er voor hen een mooi resultaat zonder problemen komen, dan kunnen we eindelijk eens Melbourne achter ons laten.

    Het is wel weer illustratief hoe media met dit soort dingen werkt, uitmelken, olie erop, verder uitmelken etc ... ben er klaar mee. Dit wordt mijn laatste reactie over dit onderwerp.

      De artikelen over dit onderwerp staan voor het overgrote deel alleen op deze site. Wij kunnen er namelijk niet over stoppen :)
      Iedereen zegt wel elke keer: Nou klaar ermee, op naar de volgende race.
      Maar als er weer een artikel komt zijn we er weer als de kippen bij hahaha

      Ik heb er nog helemaal niet op gereageerd, het is nou eenmaal zo gegaan en je kan zeggen wat je wilt maar je veranderd er niets meer aan. komtie he!! op naar Bahrein ?

    Verstappen had gewoon aan zijn eigen strategie moeten vasthouden (m.a.w. dezelfde strategie als Ricciardo), dan was hij gewoon 5e geworden.
