Verstappen benieuwd naar kwalificatie

Max Verstappen sloot de derde vrije training op het Shanghai International Circuit als negende af. De jonge Nederlander beperkte zich tot een run en kwam pas in het laatste half uur in actie. Een bewuste keuze, zo laat Verstappen weten.

"Ik heb me tijdens de laatste training vooral gericht op de race. Omdat het morgen droog lijkt te blijven, had het niet zoveel zin om veel te rijden. De anderen richtten zich meer op de kwalificatie. In de kwalificatie straks gaat het er echt om, ik ben benieuwd wat we daar kunnen doen", aldus Verstappen.

Carlos Sainz Jr. reed in de training wel een tweede run en kwam tot een vierde tijd. Met de snelheid in natte omstandigheden lijkt het dus wel snor te zitten bij Toro Rosso.
