Haryanto tevreden over zijn progressie in de F1

Manor Racing-coureur Rio Haryanto is over het algemeen tevreden over hetgeen hij tot nu toe heeft laten zien in de Formule 1. Rondom het debuut van de Indonesiër heerste veel scepsis, maar in de eerste vier races van 2016 heeft hij weinig tot geen gekkigheid uitgehaald. Hij is langzamer dan teamgenoot Pascal Wehrlein, maar slaat geen modderfiguur.

Haryanto: "Ik voel me goed over het seizoen tot dusver. Ik heb wat pech gehad, maar over het algemeen zijn de eerste races positief verlopen. Ik ben tevreden over hoe ik mezelf ontwikkel en hoe ik de geleerde lessen in de praktijk breng, vooral wat betreft mijn snelheid. Teleurstellingen schuif je van je af en gebruik je als motivatie voor het volgende weekend."

"Ik ben er dus klaar voor om in Spanje weer tot het uiterste te gaan. Dit land bevalt me wel, Barcelona is een coole stad met veel mooie plekken waar ik kan trainen. Mijn trainer is Spaans, dus die weet me de mooiste locaties aan te wijzen. Het circuit ken ik goed, dus ik zou geen moeite moeten hebben om mijn ritme te vinden en te kijken waar ons pakket dit weekend toe in staat is."
