Alonso nog niet volledig op zijn gemak in de McLaren

Fernando Alonso kwalificeerde zich als tiende voor de Grand Prix van Monaco, maar door de gridstraf van Kimi Raikkonen schuift de Spanjaard één plekje op. Toch is Alonso niet tevreden. Het vertrouwen in de MP4-31 is nog niet echt aanwezig.

"Het was ons doel om Q3 te halen, maar ik ben nog niet echt vertrouwd met de auto. Ik voel me niet perfect. Ik had te weinig vertrouwen om écht te kunnen pushen in de bochten."

Voorafgaand aan het weekend in Monaco had het team van McLaren hoge verwachtingen. Deze bleken toch iets te ambitieus. "Onze voorspellingen voorafgaand aan dit weekend waren iets té optimistisch. Laten we eerst maar eens kijken wat er zondag gebeurt."

"Het mag regenen, sneeuwen, het maakt me niet uit. Ik heb iets nodig om deze race wat actie te geven. De start wordt cruciaal, die bepaalt het verloop van de race. Hopelijk wordt de show interessant. Punten zijn het doel morgen."

Als Mc Laren liefhebber vind ik het zo ontzettend jammer dat er vanuit de leiding steeds onrealistische verwachtingen worden geschept.       Daarom verwacht ik ook dat Max bij regen vanuit de pitstraat start bij. Er gaat geheid wat gebeuren bij de start, Alonso is wel een hele goede starter trouwens!

      Bij mij is dat geen vrees. Eerder hoop :) Spanje 2.0 ook al zit Verstappen er dan niet bij vooraan.Ben benieuwd, Verstappen gaat Alonso nog wel tegenkomen denk ik.

Het is gewoon beschamend, als je na alle grote beloftes p13 en p10 kwalificeert. Zeg dan beter niets. Hoe goed is nou werkelijk het chassis en hoe slecht is nu werkelijk de motor?
    Conclusie: als het chassis echt top 3 was geweest, hadden ze allebei minimaal P5 - P6 gekwalificeerd.

      Had nog gezegd dat het chassis nog niet goed genoeg was.... een laatste sector in barcelona valt echt niet 1 op 1 te vergelijken met monaco. Te veel variabelen.
      Wel jammer voor mc laren en de coureurs, niet voor boullier en ron

      Mannen, ik begrijp de hilariteit. Maar ga a.u.b. niet overdrijven om je lolletje te versterken. Ron Dennis heeft nooit gezegd dat ze een beter chassis als Mercedes hebben.
