Ricciardo: "Koele omstandigheden geen probleem voor ons"

De koele omstandigheden in Canada vormen geen probleem voor Red Bull volgens Daniel Ricciardo. De Australiër start de race vanmiddag als vierde, met in zijn kielzog teamgenoot Max Verstappen. Ricciardo verwacht in de race de strijd aan te kunnen gaan met Mercedes, ongeacht wat de weersomstandigheden zullen zijn. 

Ricciardo over het weer in relatie tot de prestaties van de Red Bull Racing RB12: "De koude omstandigheden liggen ons wel. Op vrijdag hadden we het wat lastiger toen het best wel warm was, maar als dat de rest van het weekend zo was gebleven hadden we ons daar op aan kunnen passen. Onze auto doet het in het algemeen iets beter wanneer de omstandigheden niet te warm zijn."

Ricciardo laat verder weten uit te kijken naar de strijd met Ferrari en Mercedes tijdens de race: "In de race zouden we dicht bij Ferrari en Mercedes moeten kunnen zitten. Het zou mooi zijn wanneer de strijd voor de overwinning tussen drie teams gaat. Ik denk dat wij dicht bij Mercedes kunnen komen. Het maakt me niet uit wat het weer gaat doen. Als het regent vind ik dat prima, maar wisselende omstandigheden maken het ook leuk."

    Is dus ook voor Max, hier in beeld op de foto (gele camera), positief. Ik ben benieuwd hoe het vandaag gaat. Hoop erg goed. En Max, aub eerst kampioen worden voor je contact zoekt met de muur. Laat anderen dat maar doen ;-)
