Williams moet slag slaan in komende twee races

Voor het team van Williams moet het gebeuren in de Grands Prix van Oostenrijk en Groot-Brittannië. De Red Bull Ring en het circuit van Silverstone zijn de Britse renstal op het lijf geschreven. Williams is vol vertrouwen na de podiumplek van Valtteri Bottas in Canada.

Engineer Rob Smedley deelde aan Auto Hebdo mede: "In Montreal versloegen we Red Bull Racing omdat onze auto beter was. Oostenrijk en Groot-Brittannië zouden ons ook moeten liggen. Onze ambitie is om dichter in de buurt te komen van Mercedes en Ferrari, teams met veel meer middelen tot hun beschikking dan wij."

"Met onze snelle pitstops tonen we aan dat we langzaam maar zeker weer een winnaarsmentaliteit laten ontstaan binnen het team. Winnen draait niet alleen om een winnende auto, het zit ook in je hoofd. We zijn druk bezig om iedereen binnen Williams daarvan te doordringen."
