Fernando Alonso en Kimi Raikkonen maakten vorig jaar tijdens de Grand Prix van Oostenrijk op de Red Bull Ring een zware crash mee. Bij het uitkomen van bocht twee had Alonso wielspin en daar verkeek Raikkonen zich op. De Ferrari schoof over de McLaren heen, met veel schade tot gevolg. Beide coureurs vielen uit.
