Jos Verstappen: "Zo ontzettend spannend"

Na een enorm spannende slotfase van de Grand Prix in Oostenrijk wist Max Verstappen de tweede plaats op het podium te bemachtigen. Vader Jos is trots.

"Het was zo spannend", vertelt vader Verstappen aan Ziggo Sport. "We wisten niet of Max nog binnen moest komen. Sauber heeft onze ogen geopend, dus we gingen voor de lange stint en we probeerden de race uit te rijden. We weten inmiddels allemaal hoe goed Max kan racen."

Volgens Jos Verstappen laat Max nog een aantal punten liggen op het gebied van kwalificeren, maar ook dat valt te leren.

"Tijdens de kwalificatie was de samenhang van de omstandigheden misschien even moeilijk maar tijdens de race weet Max het weer goed te maken. Hij heeft een erg knappe prestatie geleverd", voegt vader Verstappen toe.
