Mallya schuift vrijdag aan voor FIA-persconferentie

De internationale autosportbond FIA heeft de deelnemers voor de persconferenties in de aanloop naar de Britse Grand Prix bekendgemaakt. De meest opvallende naam is die van Force India-eigenaar en teambaas Vijay Mallya. Hij schuift vrijdag aan in de persconferentie.

Op donderdag is het eerst nog de beurt aan de coureurs. De FIA heeft thuisrijders Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Jenson Button (McLaren) en Jolyon Palmer (Renault) uitgenodigd. Zij krijgen gezelschap van Valtteri Bottas (Williams), Pascal Wehrlein (Manor) en Romain Grosjean (Haas F1).

Mallya wordt een dag later geflankeerd door Maurizio Arrivabene (Ferrari), Eric Boullier (McLaren), Dave Ryan (Manor), Claire Williams (Williams) en Toto Wolff (Mercedes). De persconferentie op donderdag vangt om 15.00 uur plaatselijke tijd aan en op vrijdag om 16.00 uur plaatselijke tijd.

Force India-baas Mallya heeft zijn gezicht het hele seizoen nog niet laten zien bij Grands Prix. Tegen hem loopt een arrestatiebevel in India en de Indiase regering heeft zijn paspoort ongeldig laten verklaren omdat hij geen gehoor geeft aan de oproep om te getuigen in een rechtszaak tegen hem.

      Ik denk dat ie graag meer GP's zou bezoeken maar liever niet de kans loopt uitgeleverd te worden zodra hij Engeland verlaat ;-)

      @SZIXXX Zoveel is duidelijk. Maar kun je zo het vertrouwen van aandeelhouders en spon zo horen we houden? Je wilt toch wel je snufferd in de pits laten zien, nietwaar?

      @Verstoppen: Mallya heeft wel een goede reden natuurlijk. Verder is hij geen teambaas (dat is Robert Fernley). Hij is de eigenaar van het team. Mallya heeft weliswaar een meer hands-on approach, maar soms gaat dat effe niet. Maar het managen van het team is gewoon prima mogelijk. Echt op afstand is het niet eens, aangezien het team natuurlijk gebaseerd is in Engeland.
