Grosjean: "Ik focus me volledig op mijn werk bij Haas"

Toen Romain Grosjean bekend maakte voor het Haas Formule 1-team te gaan rijden noemde de Fransman het een eerste stap in de richting van een droomtransfer naar Ferrari. Haas en Ferrari werken nauw samen op technisch gebied en Grosjean werd eerder dit jaar al in verband gebracht met een overstap naar Ferrari in 2017.

Na de bekendmaking door Ferrari dat Kimi Raikkonen ook in 2017 de kleuren van de Italiaanse renstal verdedigt, laat Grosjean het volgende weten: "Ik rij ook volgend jaar in de kleuren van Haas F1, de bevestiging van het nieuwe contract van Raikkonen raakt mij dus niet. Het is prima zo. Goed nieuws voor Kimi."

Grosjean laat verder weten dat de bevestiging van Raikkonen de rijdersmarkt voor volgend jaar redelijk op slot heeft gezet. Grosjean is gelukkig bij Haas: "Je wilt altijd in een team zitten dat wereldkampioen kan worden, maar ik voel me prima hier bij Haas. We hebben nog veel te doen en ik wil op een dag op het podium staan. We hebben de juiste mensen om steeds beter te worden en ik wil aan dat succes bijdragen."

Hij begrijpt zeker niet dat zelfs al zou Ferrari belangstelling voor hem hebben,waar ik trouwens niks van geloof, hij dan als tweede rijder gehaald zou worden. Maar voorlopig kunnen de 'wie gaat er naar Ferrari' roddels weer een jaartje de kast in....

    Ik geloof alleen niet dat Ferrari hem wil, die willen zoiets als Lewis, dan vallen toch wel 90% van de rijders af.

    Ik blijf er van overtuigd, dat dit ooit een ferrari-driver zal zijn. Hij heeft bewezen een flink potje te kunnen sturen.

    Misschien spreekt zijn zeurderige houding niet in zijn voordeel maar men gaat er wel heel gemakkelijk aan voorbij dat Romain net zo snel en af en toe zelfs flink sneller was dan Kimi toen ze samen bij Lotus zaten. Romain heeft absoluut het talent om wereldkampioen te worden.

      Romain werd het eerste jaar naast Kimi volledig aan stront gereden. Echt totaal kansloos was hij tov Kimi.
      Kreeg daarna maandenlang psychologische hulp en werd onredelijk lang door Bouillier de hand boven het hoofd gehouden.
      Uiteindelijk werd hij wat kalmer in zijn hoofd en kon hij F1 waardig zijn races rijden.
      Kimi was toen al in een conflict met zijn niet betalende en zeurende werkgever en toen eenmaal besloten was dat hij weg zou gaan was Romain "ineens" een stuk sneller..
      Prima coureur die met de jaren beter wordt maar een Ferrari stoel is niet gerechtvaardigd vind ik.
