Force India begint gat met Williams te dichten

Force India heeft een prima resultaat gescoord op haar thuiscircuit. De renstal, wiens fabriek aan de andere kant van de weg bij het circuit staat, kende een matige voorbereiding op de race maar coureurs Sergio Perez en Nico Hülkenberg sloten het weekend af met een zesde en zevende plaats. De renstal nadert Williams in het klassement.

De kwalificatie voor Force India verliep enigzins teleurstellend vergeleken met de races voor Silverstone, maar in de race herstelden beide coureurs zich knap. Sergio Perez lag in het begin van de race zelfs op een vierde plaats, maar moest Daniel Ricciardo in de Red Bull en Kimi Raikkonen in de Ferrari nog voor zich dulden.

"Een prima prestatie voor het team. Ik ging zelf nog van de baan in bocht een en dat kostte me bijna mijn banden. Ten opzichte van Ricciardo en Raikkonen had ik meer slijtage en ik kon ze niet achter me houden. Een matig weekend hebben we toch nog positief kunnen afsluiten", aldus Perez.

Waar Perez een redelijk rustige race kende had teamgenoot Nico Hülkenberg het behoorlijk druk. "Het begin van de race was niet goed voor mij. Ik verloor een plek aan Felipe Massa bij de Virtual Safety Car en het kostte me veel moeite hem voorbij te komen. Je kon namelijk niet buiten de droge lijn gaan rijden omdat daar te veel water stond. Gelukkig werd de baan snel droger en begon het rijden leuker te worden. Ik ben blij met een zevende plaats, zeker ook omdat ik er twee keer afschoot in de eerste bocht."

Williams glijdt steeds verder af, dus die vierde plek zal inderdaad wel voor een ander team zijn.

Ik zat toevallig net na die stand te kijken:) idd erg goed van FI en ik denk nog dat ze het gaat lukken ook! Williams zag er vandaag ook weer erg slecht uit! Met Hongarije en Hockenheim zie ik in de FI de veel betere auto.

Williams is nu niet in staat om het gaat naar RB te verkleinen. en zullen dus meer achterom moeten gaan kijken want FI is erg sterk bezig de laatste 4 gp's
