Perez: "Kwalificatie van levensbelang in Hongarije"

Na enkele snelle circuits verhuist het Formule 1-circus nu naar de langzame Hungaroring. Voor Sergio Perez zou dat goed nieuws moeten betekenen, want in het vergelijkbare Monaco stond de Force India-coureur op het podium.

Perez vind het jammer dat de Hungaroring dit jaar niet de laatste race voor de zomerstop is. "Boedapest is een geweldige stad, en voorheen hadden we altijd een groot feest op de zondagavond, omdat het dan zomerstop was. Het waren altijd geweldige feestjes, ongeacht wat het behaalde resultaat was! Ik hoop dat er dit jaar weer zo'n feest is, want het is een heerlijke manier om de spanning van het weekend kwijt te raken."

Een goede kwalificatie is volgens de Mexicaan erg belangrijk op de Hungaroring. "Op een baan waar zo weinig inhaalmogelijkheden zijn, is een goede kwalificatie van vitaal belang. Na Monaco is dit de baan waarbij dit het meeste geldt. Het zal een uitdagend weekend worden, maar ik weet dat we overal kunnen presteren. Ik heb er nog niet veel geluk gehad, maar ik hoop op meer geluk dit jaar."

    Zet m op Perez! Jij en Force India geven het seizoen extra klaar en het is leuk een Force India op het podium te zien staan!

    Ik hoop voor FI dat ze in de top 10 kunnen kwalificeren, maar ik verwacht er niet zo veel van eerlijk gezegd. Waarschijnlijk staat STR voor ze, en evt. Williams ook nog, maar in ieder geval MB (..), RBR en Ferrari. Dus dan duikelen ze er net uit ;)

      Williams gaat hier (net als in Monaco) weer een drama zijn. Enige goede aan die auto is de Mercedes motor en daar heb je in Hongarije niet heel veel aan. Daarbij klungelt Massa maar wat aan laatste paar races.

      STR gaat inderdaad misschien wel eens hele hoge ogen gooien;)

      Ik heb (helaas) nog geen goed gevoel over Williams op de Hungaroring. De karakteristiek van de baan past op dit moment niet echt bij hun auto. Ze hebben bij Williams in Silverstone wel veel nieuwe onderdelen en settings getest, maar ik vraag me af of ze het in Hongarije voor elkaar gaan krijgen. Ze waren in Monaco ook niet best. Jammer, want Williams blijft een van de teams waar ik met plezier naar kijk, zeer ervaren team met meerdere constructeurstitels.
      STR: Sainz verwacht ik in de kwalificatie in de top 6. Veel downforce in de STR en snel in de middelsnelle bochten. Daarnaast zie ik Alonso goed kwalificeren in Hongarije.
      Het is natuurlijk 'koffiedikkijken' maar ik verwacht de volgende kwalificatie:
      1) Ricciardo
      2) Hamilton
      3) Rosberg
      4) Vettel
      5) Sainz
      6) Perez
      7) Alonso
      8) Raikkonen
      9) Hulkenberg
      10) Kyvat

      @damon: ricciardo en verstappen op 2 en 3 zou als basis een goed startpunt zijn.
      Denk dat Lewis inderdaad snel is dit weekend.
