In 2014 werd de Grand Prix van Hongarije in wisselende weersomstandigheden verreden. Voor de start was er een flinke bui gevallen en dat zorgde ervoor dat de coureurs op intermediates aan de race begonnen. Op een opdrogende baan voltrok zich een spektakelstuk waarbij Red Bull-coureur Daniel Ricciardo uiteindelijk aan het langste eind trok. Het betekende de tweede van tot dusver drie behaalde overwinning voor Ricciardo.
