Alonso: "Formule 1 heeft meer vrijheid nodig"

Nadat Fernando Alonso zich eerder deze week al kritisch had uitgelaten op het sportieve aspect van de Formule 1, toont hij zich nu ook geen liefhebber van de regels in de koningsklasse van de autosport.

Gevraagd naar waar de Formule 1 over vijf jaar moet staan, antwoordt Alonso: "Het is lastig te zeggen qua regels. Het zou goed zijn als de teams en coureurs iets meer vrijheid krijgen. Zo is het voorheen ook altijd geweest in de Formule 1."

"Vroeger konden teams zelf bepalen hoe ze het gewicht van de auto wilden verdelen, ze konden zelf de hoeveelheid camber en de druk van de banden bepalen. Het was mogelijk om een achtervleugel in eigen filosofie te ontwerpen, of zelfs met zes wielen te gaan rijden! Als je nu alle auto's zwart zou verven, zou je niet eens weten welke auto bij welk team hoort."

Ook voor de coureurs ziet de tweevoudig wereldkampioen graag wat meer vrijheid. "We konden voorheen vrijer racen met minder straffen. Nu moet je altijd alles volgens een bepaald stramien volgen en als je je daar niet aan houdt, krijg je een straf: een tijdstraf, een reprimande, een gridstraf of strafpunten. Je krijgt praktisch gezien de ruimte om adem te halen, maar meer mag je ook niet."

De nieuwe voorschriften voor het radioverkeer en de sensors die registreren of een auto buiten de baan geweest is, zijn volgens Alonso een manier om de Formule 1 in het nieuws te houden. "Het is waarschijnlijk iets dat de Formule 1 graag wil, dat er over gepraat wordt. Nu er weinig spektakel is, is het goed dat er discussies rondom de races zijn."

"Het is geen probleem dat er een dominant team is, want dat is altijd zo geweest. Het probleem ligt in de show eromheen, die vroeger wel goed was en nu niet. Waaraan dat ligt, weet ik niet. Maar dat er nu regels rondom het radioverkeer en de track limits veranderd worden, is volgens mij gewoon om ervoor te zorgen dat er tussen de races door ook over de Formule 1 gepraat wordt, want het is allemaal onzin."

Ik ben bang dat de FIA ingevoerde regels niet snel terug draait helaas. Ze geven nu al aan dat de HALO vanaf 2017 op de auto's zit. Dat kunnen ze 1-zijdig doordrukken omdat het een veiligheidsmaatregel is.

  Heeft er iemand gezegd dat het bevestigt was? ze hebben informeel aangegeven de HALO vanaf 2017 op de auto te willen zien en vermelden daarbij dat ze dat desnoods eenzijdig kunnen invoeren. Goed lezen dames en heren

  onzin, ze zeggen aleen dat ze het graag zouden willen. Zoals jij het formuleerd is het al zeker.
  Daarbij komt dat er een hoop teams/coureurs zijn die nogal kritisch zijn geweest op het ding, plus de fans die het helemaal niets vinden. Ik zie het nog niet 1 2 3 gebeuren.

  Halo is waarschijnlijk juist van de baan voor 2017. En anders hebben we nog RB en FI die de komst daarvan zouden blokkeren zolang er niet op alle vragen antwoord is gegeven. Denk hierbij bijvoorbeeld aan het ongeval van Alonso, zou hij met een Halo ook uit de auto gekomen zijn. De FIA wil zo veel, gelukkig zijn er nog teams die wel na kunnen denken.

F1 lijkt steeds meer een poppenkast te worden, waarbij regievoerders het te vertellen hebben en regels naar behoeft aanpassen.
Halo: ik mag toch echt hopen dat die er niet komt, Onooglijk ding!
