Boullier: "Samenwerking McLaren-Honda closer dan ooit"

Na een stroeve start van de samenwerking in 2015 zijn zowel McLaren als Honda nu tevreden met hoe alles verloopt. Beide kanten van de samenwerking zeggen zelfs dat het beter gaat dan ooit.

De resultaten van McLaren zijn dit seizoen nog niet geweldig met een zevende plaats bij de constructeurs, maar er is grote vooruitgang geboekt. Zowel McLaren's Eric Boullier als Honda's Yusuke Hasegawa prijzen de manier waarop er wordt samengewerkt en zijn optimistisch over de toekomst.

Boullier deelt in zijn reactie bij Crash.net indirect een sneer uit naar voormalig Honda-chef Yasuhisa Arai. "We werken nu samen met Yasuke Hasegawa, en sindsdien is de samenwerking hechter dan ooit. We ontmoeten elkaar geregeld face-to-face, hoewel er ook digitale mogelijkheden zijn om samen te werken. Het project zelf wordt steeds volwassener dus ik denk dat alles voor nu prima is."

Hasegawa is het met Boullier eens, hoewel hij niet al te veel woorden vuil wil maken aan zijn voorganger Arai. "Ik weet niet precies hoe het vorig jaar zat, maar dit jaar verloopt de samenwerking met McLaren uitstekend en ik denk dat we samen vooruitgang boeken. Dat is een goed teken."

De zevende plaats van Fernando Alonso op de Hungaroring was een geflatteerd resultaat, zo weet ook Boullier. Er komen nog een aantal circuits aan die de MP4-31 waarschijnlijk niet goed liggen zoals Spa en Monza, voordat de focus volledig naar 2017 gaat. "De hoeveelheid werk en moeite die we erin stoppen op het moment is meer dan 100 procent. We werken nog aan de auto van dit jaar en ook die van volgend jaar. Ik kan niet zeggen hoeveel procent nu al werkt aan de nieuwe auto, maar na de zomerstop zal dat naar de 100 procent gaan."

Ook Honda is al hard bezig voor 2017. Volgend jaar mogen er nog maar vier motoren gebruikt worden per auto, dus Honda is druk aan de slag met de nieuwste versie van de motor. "We zijn al gestart met de motor voor 2017, maar ook die van dit jaar wordt nog ontwikkeld. Het is lastig te bepalen hoe we onze mankracht hiervoor moeten verdelen, dus ik kan ook geen percentages noemen. We doen het allebei nu."

Ojee...daar gaan we weer :)

Prima vertoon wel in Hongarije waar ze het best 'slim' speelden.
De track ligt hen uiteraard wel en het valt nog maar af te wachten wat ze voor de rest van het seizoen nog kunnen vinden/verbeteren.

Er worden dit jaar duidelijke stappen gezet.

De snelheid gaat er op vooruit, enkel de bedrijfszekerheid blijft wel een grote zorg voor de toekomst. Dit jaar maakt het 'minder' uit dat één van de wagens uitvalt. Maar als het om prijzen pakken gaat zal dit toch anders moeten.

In ieder geval mogen ze terug wat positiever gestemd zijn ginds.

  Als je overwerkt doe je meer dan 100%. Ik gok dat ze daar in de fabriek de nodige uurtjes maken op het moment..
