Gridstraf voor Grosjean na vervangen versnellingsbak

Haas-coureur Romain Grosjean wordt na de kwalificatie voor de Duitse Grand Prix vijf plaatsen achteruit gezet. De Fransman klaagde tijdens de derde training weer eens steen en been over zijn auto, maar had daar dit keer zeker een reden toe. Grosjean moest de training al vrij vlot staken nadat het probleem met de versnellingsbak de kop opstak.

Haas is tijdens de derde training al begonnen met de werkzaamheden om de bak te verwisselen. Omdat een versnellingsbak volgens het reglement zes races mee moet gaan krijgt Grosjean een straf voor het onreglementair laten verwisselen van het onderdeel.
