Alonso roept op tot continuïteit in de F1-regels

McLaren-coureur Fernando Alonso had het afgelopen weekend in Duitsland even helemaal gehad met de regelgevers in de Formule 1. Op de donderdag voor het weekend in Hockenheim kondigde de Strategy Group weer enkele maatregelen af. Het radioverkeer werd plots volledig vrijgegeven, de regels voor track limits veranderden weer en ga zo maar door.

Er valt geen peil op te trekken, vindt ook Alonso. De Spanjaard verkondigde aan Sky Sports: "Het is abnormaal hoe vaak ze de reglementen in deze sport aanpassen. En meestal grijpen ze terug op iets dat twee weken geleden of twee maanden geleden of twee jaar geleden gold. Als coureurs hebben we er maar mee om te gaan, wij stellen de regels niet op en hebben er geen stem in."

"We wachten af en krijgen voor elke training, kwalificatie of race van onze teams te horen wat wel en niet mag in de betreffende sessie. Zo gaat het al maanden, de reglementen zijn continu onderhevig aan wijzigingen. Voor ons is het geen groot probleem, dit is ons werk. Voor de fans en de kijkers zou het echter wel beter zijn als ze er wat continuïteit in weten aan te brengen."

    Ik word ook moedeloos van al die veranderingen van de regels. Het is complete willekeur en F1 onwaardig.

    Mijn inziens moeten regelementen altijd zo nu en dan blijven wijzigen en de FIA moet blijven inspelen op de ontwikkelingen binnen de f1.
    Maar Alonso heeft helemaal gelijk dat het de laatste tijd een beetje belachelijk aan het worden is, met name voor het publiek.

      Dat er wijzigingen komen is normaal, maar terug komen op wat eerder goed was houdt geen steek! En dit is precies wat er continu gebeurd, waarbij wij als toeschouwers de klepel helemaal niet meer weten hangen... laat staan waar de de coureurs op hun plaats staan ;-)

    Dat komt omdat de FIA volkomen stuurloos en visieloos is. Men wil de rol van de coureur als boordwerktuigkundige terugdringen - waar best iets voor te zeggen valt - maar men doordenkt de consequenties niet en men heeft slappe knieën bij handhaven ervan.

    Als men dit werkelijk wil aanpakken, moet men keiharde eisen aan de bediening stellen, en niet in een soort fantasiewereldje leven waarin het probleem met verbod op radiocommando's wordt opgelost.

    Ik denk dat de meeste fans er meer aan hebben wanneer er eenheid is in de uitoefening van de regels dan daadwerkelijk het veranderen van de regels zelf.
    Er is teveel verschil tussen zelfde incidenten namelijk. Unsafe release is de ene keer 3,4,5 plaatsen straf, de andere keer een boete van 10.000 dollar. Een keer is het negeren van blauwe vlaggen een drive through waard, de andere keer 5 seconden straf.

    In mijn ogen moeten alle straffen gelijk worden behandeld. Alle straffen gelijk aan een een stop&go, net zoals vroeger. Ik denk dat dit al veel onbegrip zal wegnemen. Want het veranderen van de regels per race is niet nieuw. Dit is ook gebruikelijk in de IndyCar en NASCAR. Er zijn soms circuits, zoals een Hungaroring, waar afwijkende regels moeten worden ingezet om nadelige situaties te voorkomen.

    Helemaal mee eens, als fan is het al lastig om de veranderende regels een beetje bij te houden. Laat staan dat je ze moet volgen, het liefst zo veel mogelijk op het randje.

    Ik wil een racewagen met vier wielen, twee dikke achter en twee kleine voor. Een vette spoiler die over de achterbanden hangt zoals in de 70's. Eén kleine spoiler voor en niet zo'n verzamelbak windtunnels. Ik wil een zwartleren stuur zonder één enkele knop erop. En een automatisch geschakelde bak zodat de coureurs alleen maar hoeven sturen. Een motorblok zonder turbo voor beter geluid, minimaal 700pk. Eén set banden voor de hele race. Eén regenband, één slick. Geen pistops, alleen voor lekke banden. Niet bijtanken. Simpel. Plain. Recht toe rechtaan. En gewichten in de wagen in de volgende race als je gewonnen hebt. En naast professionele fabrieksteams ook kitcars met een motor zoals de Cosworth. Veel jaren '70 elementen dus. Omdat het racen toen beter was, dus. Keep It Simple, Stupid!

      Ehhhh. dat gaat niet meer. En het gaat ook niet over de auto's an sich, maar over de wirwar aan handhaving van reglementen. Eerst beperkt radio verkeer, nu weer gewoon volop. Unsafe release die iedere keer anders bestraft word.

      Gewoon voor een heel scala aan overtredingen duidelijke straffen afspreken die ook gewoon gehandhaafd blijven voor minstens een seizoen. Na het seizoen kan je altijd nog kijken of het anders moet. Is het voor de kijker ook helder wat er kan gebeuren bij een investigation.
