Haryanto teleurgesteld over onzekerheid over F1-toekomst

De sponsoren van Rio Haryanto hadden slechts betaal voor diens stoeltje tot en met de Grand Prix van Hongarije, maar ook in Duitsland stond de Indonesiër aan de start voor Manor. Toch blijft de kans bestaan dat het zijn laatste race was voor het team.

Haryanto geeft aan dat hij teleurgesteld is om deze fase van het seizoen te bereiken, zonder zekerheid te hebben over het restant van het seizoen 2016. Aan ESPN vertelde de Indonesiër: "Het wordt een drukke zomervakantie voor me. We moeten ondersteuning vinden van sponsors en daarvoor is mijn management hard aan het werk. De komende weken hebben we een aantal meetings en hopelijk komt daar goed nieuws uit."

"Ik ben teleurgesteld, want het is niet makkelijk om onzekerheid over je toekomst te hebben. Je zal niet altijd goede dagen hebben en soms ook slechte dagen, dus het is zoals het is. Ik geloof in mijn management, dat hard werkt om voor het gehele seizoen een stoeltje zeker te stellen."

Haryanto krijgt naar eigen zeggen veel steun vanuit eigen land, maar hij weet dat dat niet genoeg is om zijn toekomst in de Formule 1 zeker te stellen. "Mijn doel was om het hele seizoen te rijden en ik ben heel blij met de steun vanuit fans in Indonesië. Maar als ik kijk naar de financiële ondersteuning hebben zij er ook niets aan kunnen doen. Ik zou wel teleurgesteld zijn als ik niet meer terug kan komen in België." Mocht Haryanto niet meer terugkeren na de zomerstop, dan staan naar verluidt Esteban Ocon en Stoffel Vandoorne klaar om het vacante stoeltje op te vullen.

Ik vind het een sympatieke kerel hoor, maar de kans dat er ooit 1 team komt dat Harry op basis van prestaties en zonder sponsoren gaat overnemen is nagenoeg 0. Daarmee is de kans op punten ook ongeveer 0. Kort samengevat is het voor Harry leuke, en vooral bezigheid. Dat noemen we ook wel een hobby. Voor die tak van sport hebben we legio andere raceklassen. Zo simpel is dat Harry.

Ocon lijkt nog enig sinds verklaarbaar gezien de link met Mercedes maar stoffel lijkt lastiger, denk dat Mercedes niet graag pottekijkers vanuit Honda toelaat

  Ik heb mijn twijfels over Ocon bij Manor. Niet vanwege zijn behoorlijk matige prestaties in DTM, maar omdat Mercedes al dieper in de buidel moest tasten om dat stoeltje voor Wehrlein te verzekeren. Ik denk niet dat Mercedes bereidt is om nog eens met miljoenen te smijten voor een coureur die ze wellicht een paar jaar kwijt zijn aan een ander.
  
  Vandoorne lijkt me dan ook een grotere kanshebber, gezien alles er op wijst dat hij in 2017 voor McLaren gaat rijden.

  McLaren kan,ik zeg kan , nog steeds voor Button kiezen.......Ik denk, ik zeg denk dat Button niet naar Williams gaat.Hij zal zeggen : McLaren of niets. Button heeft al aangegeven dat hij eventueel naar een andere raceklasse wil gaan.
