'McLaren stoorzender in strijd om vierde plaats'

De stijgende vorm van McLaren is hinderlijk voor Force India. De Indiase renstal heeft namelijk de zinnen gezet op de vierde plek bij de constructeurs, maar McLaren-coureurs kapen steeds vaker punten voor de neus van Sergio Perez en Nico Hülkenberg weg. Dat bemoeilijkt de jacht op Williams.

Bob Fernley, vice-teambaas van Force India, deelde aan Autosport mede: "Het wordt tot het einde van het seizoen een nek-aan-nek race met Williams. Er valt via de set-up meer uit ons pakket te persen, maar ik denk dat zowel Williams als wij in grote lijnen wel klaar zijn met ontwikkeling van onze speeltjes voor 2016. Het is nu zaak om uit te vogelen hoe we er het beste mee kunnen spelen."

"McLaren is een beetje een stoorzender in dat gevecht. Zij mengen zich op de baan steeds meer in de strijd en dat betekent dat elke fout twee keer zo hard afgestraft zal worden. McLaren kan het verschil maken tussen een vierde en een vijfde positie in de eindstand. Het is niet langer tweedimensionaal, maar driedimensionaal."

Force India staat momenteel vijftien punten achter op Williams.

Kijk bv naar Hongarije. Daar was Williams bedroevend. Maar McLaren mengde zich in de strijd voor the best of the rest en daardoor kon FI minder punten inlopen.     McLaren heeft met 42 punten bijna de helft van het aantal punten dat FI heeft. De resterende races zal het naar mijn idee niet zo zijn dat McLaren FI voorbij gaat. Plekken 1 tot en met 6 zijn in races vaak al verdeeld. Aantal punten dat dan overblijft per race is niet veel en daaenaast zal McLaren ook niet steeds the best of the rest zijn (1e zes plekken) zijn. FI zal ook nog wel punten scoren dus ik denk dat plek 4 tussen FI en Williams zal gaan. Ik zou er ook wel naast willen zitten wat dit betreft, brengt meer spektakel de laatste races van het seizoen.

      Neen voorbijgaan gaat niet meer gebeuren dit jaar.
      Maar, zoals in het artikel staat : McLaren kan de stoorzender worden.
      Dus het kan van McLaren afhangen of FI Williams verslaat of niet.

    Als goedmaker voor het gebrek aan gevechten voorin is dit best leuk om te volgen. En als McLaren fan vind ik het alleen maar mooi wanneer zij zich er meer in gaan mengen.

    McLaren heeft ook punten van Williams afgepakt. Lijkt me echt een non-argument dit.

    Volgens mij heeft McLaren de afgelopen races zelfs meer punten van Williams afgepakt dan van Force India. Wie tijd heeft mag dat uitrekenen.

    Dat nadeel heeft Williams natuurlijk net zo hard. De McLaren's pakken echt niet alleen maar punten af van Force India. Als je zo gaat redeneren, dan kun je net zo goed zeggen dat Force India en Williams in de weg van McLaren rijden op weg naar de vierde plaats in het kampioenschap.
