Hamilton ziet Red Bull als belangrijkste concurrent

Mercedes-coureur Lewis Hamilton verwacht dat Red Bull Racing de rest van dit seizoen de meeste tegenstand zal bieden. Aan het begin van dit jaar was Ferrari nog de naaste belager van de regerend wereldkampioen, maar de Scuderia staat wat stil in de ontwikkeling. Stilstand betekent achteruitgang in de Formule 1, Red Bull Racing is Ferrari voorbij gestoken.

Hamilton deelde aan F1i mede: "Red Bull Racing is absoluut onze belangrijkste concurrent op dit moment. Daniel Ricciardo en Max Verstappen doen het goed, maar dat is het niet alleen. Ze hebben gewoon een geweldig team. Red Bull Racing heeft een sterke organisatie. De performance van de Renault-motor is verbeterd en de RB12 genereert veel downforce."

"Ik weet niet hoe het komt dat ze in Duitsland zo dicht naar ons toe kropen, meer dan andere teams. Ferrari oogde op een bepaald moment tijdens het weekend op de Hockenheimring ook sterk, maar zij konden dat niet volhouden. Red Bull Racing wel. We moeten ze goed in de gaten houden."

      Eens, ik ben geen groot fan van Wehrlein, maar Wehrlein/Ocon is voor Manor een schitterende combi ook natuurlijk, al zal Ocon eerst misschien nog ietsje moeten wennen wel. Ondanks dat zet ik toch op Ocon in als de betere daar

    Je moet Ferrari ook nog niet afschrijven die zijn zeer zeker niet tevreden dus maar eens afwachten hoe dat gaat in Spa.

    Horner zal er alles aan doen om RB zijn plek 2 te vertevigen.
    volgende punt is Ricciardo zijn 3e plek te verstevigen.
    En daarna komt Max aan de beurt om te proberen plek 4 proberen te grijpen en beide Ferrari coureurs voorbij te streven.

    Belangrijkste voor RB is veilig uitlopen op Ferrari.
    Dan pas komt belang van Ricciardo en Max. Ricciardo om verder uit te lopen op de Ferrari coureurs en voor Max om ze ook te passeren en plek 4 over te nemen.

      Niet te vlug conclusies trekken.
      Een 4voudig WK F1 gaan ze niet dadelijk 2e rijder maken.
      Ik weet ook dat zijn laaste seizoen bij RB minder was en Ricciardo toen beter scoorde.
      Maar één seizoen maakt je status niet.

    (De leider in de tussenstand verklaarde: "Ik schakelde mijn motor rond de tweede of derde ronde al een tandje terug. Ik kon al vroeg de spaarstand aanzetten en was in staat om een tandje bij te schakelen toen ik de boodschap 'it's Hammertime' kreeg) .

      Zomaar een paar vragen. Hoeveel scheelde dat standje terug? Een tiende per ronde, of een hele seconde? Was Rosberg voor of achter de Red Bulls gefinished? Is er een ander team wat dan wel de "belangrijkste concurrent" is?
