'Druk krijgt ook in Formule 1 geen vat op Ocon'

Esteban Ocon maakt komend weekend zijn debuut op het hoogste niveau. De Fransman stapt bij Manor Racing in als vervanger van Rio Haryanto. Hij is pas 19 jaar, maar dat is zeker niet te jong voor de Formule 1. Ocon is klaar voor zijn eerste Grand Prix.

Dat beweert Gwen Lagrue tegenover Auto Hebdo. Lagrue ontfermt zich bij Mercedes over de talenten die in het opleidingsprogramma zitten. "We hebben in de opstapklasses gezien dat Esteban altijd reageert op momenten waarop de druk intenser wordt."

"In zijn vrijdagtrainingen voor Renault heeft hij geen stap verkeerd gezet. In Spa zal hij misschien meer emotie voelen dan hij gewend is, omdat het zijn debuut is. Maar ik heb alle vertrouwen dat de druk ook in de Formule 1 geen vat krijgt op Esteban. Hij is er klaar voor."

    Goed dat ook Ocon een kans krijgt in de F1 ,2 talenten tegen elkaar ben benieuwd wie er wint bij Manor .
    Wehr vond ik tot nu toe niet echt overtuigd ten opzichte van Har maar dat gaan we nu snel zien of hij echt een Merc rijder is voor de toekomst.

      Denk zelf dat Rio niet zo slecht is/was. Ocon zal de eerste race(s) geen schijn van kans hebben tegen Wehrlein. Die heeft meer ervaring in de Manor...

      Lol ik ben Ocon nu al zat en hij heeft nog geen eens gereden, en elk interview heeft ie het maar over dat ie net zo goed is als Max . Denk dat Max wel even zwaait als ie hem op een ronde rijd dit weekend haha.

      @ JosSpanjer, vergeet niet dat hier ook elke quote over Max (door onze F1 sites) ge-highlight wordt... Net als in elke toppic hier Max erbij gehaald wordt.

      Ocon is snel en uitzonderlijk constant, maar hij heeft ook nooit echt briljante races. In een achterhoede team als Manor val je dan niet echt op.

      Overigens ben ik helemaal niet onder de indruk van Wehrlein. Die valt me nogal tegen.

      We zullen het zien. Het wordt in ieder geval geen makkelijke opgave voor Ocon om midden in het seizoen ineens in te stappen. Mocht hij toch consequent beter zijn dan Wehrlein dan is Mercedes denk ik snel klaar met Wehrlein. Wat dat betreft staat de druk ook veel meer op Wehrlein.

      Ik verwacht Ocon iets minder overtuigend dan Wehrlein.
      Dus dat beloofd,.....als je die al niet echt overtuigend vindt tot nu toe

    Klopt reagent op momenten als het intenser wordt maar of dat nu altijd zijn positieve danwel gewenst effect heeft is de vraag. Maar al met al fijn dat er weer jongere rijders bijkomen.

    pas op is best wel een snelle jongen en iemand die rustig weet te blijven en bezig blijven met puur snel rijden .
    denk dat velen nog verrast worden door ocon wehlein is er daar 1 van

      Dit is geen aanval. Maar hebben jullie Ocon weleens gevolgd? ik ga er echt van uit dat hij voor Wehrlein gaat finishen. Zeker van de Quali ben ik niet, maar de race is mijn inziens voor Ocon.

    Ik twijfel niet aan Ocon. Maar over welke druk spreken we?

    Als hij verslagen wordt door zijn teamgenoot was dat te verwachten vanwege de ervaring van Wehrlein. Hij rijdt achteraan. Enige wat hij moet doen is de auto heel houden, geen domme dingen doen, en de blauwe vlaggen respecteren.
