Sainz en Ricciardo eveneens met 'halo' in België

Het aantal coureurs dat in de eerste vrije training voor de Belgische Grand Prix met een 'halo' op de baan verschijnt is nog verdubbeld. Naast Nico Rosberg en Nico Hülkenberg proberen ook Carlos Sainz en Daniel Ricciardo het systeem uit op het circuit van Spa-Francorchamps.

De halo is bedoeld om de hoofden van de rijders beter te beschermen. 2017 komt te vroeg om het systeem al te verplichten, maar de internationale autosportbond FIA zal er alles aan doen om de halo voor 2018 wel in de reglementen op te nemen. Daar hoort een uitvoerig testprogramma bij en de teams lijken daar nu gehoor aan te geven.
