Max Verstappen: "We krijgen het hier zwaarder"

Red Bull Racing zal dit weekend naast Mercedes waarschijnlijk ook Ferrari voor zich moeten dulden. Dat concludeert Max Verstappen na de eerste dag van de Italiaanse Grand Prix. Het circuit van Monza is niet zo geschikt voor de RB12. Verstappen: "Dit is het slechtste circuit op de kalender voor ons en we krijgen het hier zwaarder dan op Spa."

Hij vervolgt: "We staan verder achter op Ferrari dan we zouden willen. We wisten van tevoren dat we op deze baan meer zouden worstelen dan op andere circuits. Toch was het een redelijk positieve dag. Het is lastig om een goede balans te vinden tussen topsnelheid en de snelle bochten die hier zijn, maar ik denk dat we een aardig compromis hebben gevonden. Het moet nog beter, misschien dat we morgen dichter bij Ferrari in de buurt kunnen komen. Maar het wordt een moeilijk weekend."

Verstappen reed in de eerste vrije training een rondje met de 'halo'. Hoe was dat? "Het was anders, een vreemd gevoel. Er moet nog wel wat aan gewerkt worden om het in en uit de auto stappen te versimpelen en het meer normaal te maken."

Laat die rode bolides gaan de eerste bocht en je bent 3de :)
Ze haken toch in elkaar , en misschien wel een dubbele actie dat de grijze pijlen ook in elkaar gaan zitten, dan sta je eerste :) !

    Dat zei rbr ook in Spa, toen viel het aardig mee, met een beetje meer massel was ric dichter op nico geweest

    Hopellijk kan hij Ricciardo weer eens verslaan, die is goed in vorm. Dan is minimaal p5 binnen bereik, en met wat geluk nog wel meer.

    In een interview na de VT2 zei Max ook nog dat het waarschijnlijk geen moeilijke, maar wel een lange drivers briefing zou worden nav het vorig weekend. Blijkt dus niet meer over gesproken te zijn. Een uur geleden verscheen het volgende bericht:
    "The drivers were expected to discuss the incident in their briefing with Whiting later on Friday but it was not mentioned - almost certainly because it had been dealt with by Whiting already."

      Kansloos dat Whitning zich voor het karretje van Ferrari heeft laten spannen. Maar naar het schijnt stapt Whitning komend seizoen wellucht over naar een F1 team, dus drie keer raden waar hij waarschijnlijk zal belanden...

    Denk dat hij een reeel beeld schetst. Ferrari heeft hier op Monza een update voor de power unit doorgevoerd en die update lijkt te werken. Laten we hopen date het een "steady" p5 en p6 wordt voor de beide Red Bull rijders met dan hopelijk Max op p5 natuurlijk...
