Verstappen maakt zich op voor fysieke wedstrijd

De Grand Prix van Singapore is voor de Formule 1-coureurs de zwaarste race van het seizoen. Door de hitte en de hoge luchtvochtigheidsgraad wordt het zondag een ware slijtageslag. Red Bull Racing-rijder Max Verstappen heeft hard getraind en verkeert fysiek gezien in topconditie.

"Veel zweet en weinig rustmomenten", zo omschrijft Verstappen de race in Singapore tegenover De Telegraaf. "Ik heb buiten getraind in plaats van binnen in een sportschool. Sowieso heb ik zoveel mogelijk tijd buiten doorgebracht. Ik voel me altijd wel lekker als het een beetje warm is."

De Nederlandse coureur van Red Bull Racing is optimistisch over zijn kansen dit weekend. Verstappen: "Ik heb nu vooral zin in de race omdat we een goede auto hebben voor dit circuit. Van de resterende races hebben we hier op papier de grootste kans op een overwinning."
