Sainz Jr. en Kvyat blij met nieuwe asfaltlaag Sepang

Volgens Toro Rosso-coureurs Carlos Sainz Jr. en Daniil Kvyat is de nieuwe asfaltlaag op het Sepang International Circuit een genot om te rijden. Beide heren sloten de dag af met een elfde en zestiende tijd en zijn tevreden met het werk dat gedaan is.

In de eerste training moest Carlos Sainz Jr. zijn teamgenoot nog voor zich dulden, in de tweede sessie waren de rollen omgedraaid. Sainz Jr. over zijn eerste dag: "Het was een interessante dag. Door het nieuwe asfalt voelt het alsof je op een nieuw circuit rijdt, terwijl we hier vorig jaar natuurlijk ook al reden. Het nieuwe asfalt zorgt ervoor dat de baan veel sneller is geworden, we gaan nu al drie seconden harder dan vorig jaar en dan is het nog maar vrijdag. Onze auto voelt erg goed aan, het is een genot om te rijden. Voor morgen hebben we nog werk te verzetten, wetende dat dit circuit ons minder goed ligt dan Singapore. Het zal echter beter zijn als in Monza en Spa en ik ben klaar voor het gevecht in het middenveld."

Daniil Kvyat zit de laatste tijd beter in zijn vel en is na zijn punten in Singapore positief gestemd: "Het was een goede dag vandaag, we konden veel rondjes rijden op een baan met nieuw asfalt. In dat kader was het belangrijk veel te rijden. Het voelt erg fijn om over zo'n nieuwe asfaltlaag te rijden. We moeten aan de bak voor morgen, hopelijk gaat het dan net zo goed."

Mooi verhaal maar dat geld natuurlijk voor alle teams . Een 11e en een 16e is dan ook niet echt iets om over naar huis te schrijven.

Het verschil tussen toppers en sub. Hoe kan je nou tevreden zijn buiten de top 10. Tuurlijk ze hebben excuus zat maar toch het moet altijd je streven zijn hoger op te komen. Watjes

  Heb je de rechte stukken gezien op dit circuit. Wellicht verklaard dat het een en ander. Deze watjes presteren meer dan dat jij zeer waarschijnlijk doet, of niet? Niveau is erg laag hier op het forum, en het veranderd maar niet.
