Daniel Ricciardo: "Het liep niet zo lekker in de kwalificatie"

Daniel Ricciardo reed de zesde tijd in de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Japan. De teamgenoot van Verstappen laat weten het lastig te hebben gehad in de kwalificatie. Ricciardo schuift morgen voor de start wel een plekje op, vanwege de gridstraf van Sebastian Vettel.

Daniel Ricciardo laat na de kwalificatie het volgende optekenen: "Het ging niet helemaal zoals gepland. We hadden wat problemen in de kwalificatie. Op de rechte stukken kwam ik wat topsnelheid tekort en het helpt ook niet mee als de verschillen zo klein zijn. Ik heb vertrouwen in de race, onze auto doet het dan meestal beter."

    De verwachtingen zijn gezond hoog. Het resultaat is eigenlijk zeer goed zit dicht bij elkaar en geen mega gat naar mb meer. Regen race zou mooi zijn.

    Mooi om te zien dat Max weer "on top" en "all around" Daniel zit qua racepace en kwalipace.
    Meer zat er gewoon niet in met die Renault motor. Tevens is het mooi om te zien dat al het harde werk van Ferrari mbt de power unit zijn vruchten oplevert. Die powertrain is op dit moment minstens even goed als die van Mercedes. Alleen qua FRIC en totaal pakket heeft Mercedes het nog ietsje veter voor elkaar.

    Beste power unit: Ferrari
    Beste FRIC en totaal pakket: Mercedes

      RBR: Meest talentvolle duo
      Ferrari: Meest succesvolle duo
      Mercedes: Meest ervaren duo

      Onderlinge verschillen vrijwel nihil. Max heeft zich definitief tussen de grootsten genesteld maar is nog niet de betere van het groepje, echter ook zeker niet de minste.

      Omdat de verschillen nihil zijn kan je ook niet verwachten dat er iemand 'echt' beter is. Ja, vroeger bij Ferrari met een duidelijke 2de rijder. Relatief gezien kan VES nog wel het meeste groeien door zijn onervarenheid.

      Ferrari duo dus meest succesvol.
      Ham en Ros hebben samen met gp's gereden dan Vet en Rai dus meest ervaren ;)

      Gezien de extreem kleine tijdsverschillen kun je eigenlijk niet goed wat zeggen over het presteren van de coureurs (per team). Het lijkt immers of ze (per team) allemaal redelijk aan het maximum van de capaciteit van hun bolide aan zitten.

      @Rimmer: dat klopt niet. Rosberg en Hamilton hebben samen 384 starts. Vettel en Raikkonen 420. Dus die van Ferrari hebben meer ervaring.

      En als je naar overwinningen kijkt hebben die van Mercedes meer overwinningen, dus het is maar hoe je succes meet ook..
