Verstappen kijkt uit naar Austin en Mexico City

Het Formule 1-circus verplaatst zich volgende week naar Noord-Amerika voor eerst een weekend op het Circuit of the Americas nabij Austin, om een week later op het Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City te racen. Twee circuits die het team van Red Bull Racing redelijk goed zouden moeten liggen.

Coureur Max Verstappen blikt vooruit naar de Grands Prix van de VS en Mexico: "Het Circuit of the Americas is speciaal. Het is een nieuwe baan met 'old school' bochten, dat maakt het erg gaaf om er te rijden. In de eerste bocht zijn genoeg inhaalmogelijkheden, waarna de Esses doen denken aan Silverstone of Suzuka."

"Het circuit in Mexico is interessant. Het is nog steeds redelijk nieuw, vorig jaar was het net klaar toen we er gingen racen. Hopelijk is er dit jaar wat meer grip, zodat de rondetijden naar beneden gaan. De fans in Mexico zijn ontzettend gepassioneerd. Vorig jaar kwamen ze met velen, dus hopelijk is dat dit jaar weer het geval."

    VES kijkt weer ergens naar uit...doe ie altijd. Voor mij mag Mexico gelijk van de kalender af, want heb niks met een aan/uit-circuit..vreselijk. Maar kijk toch wel......

      Eens Vaxmerstappen,

      Zelfs thuis voor de bus wil ik graag races zien met volle enthousiaste fans. Als je deze woensdag de tijdrit wielrennen in Qatar hebt gezien, dat was pas om te huilen met 3 honden en 1 kip langs de baan.

      Fans maken juist de sfeer op de tribunes. Leuk om te zien die japanners met die F1 auto's op hun hoofd met drs en die mexicanen met die worstelmaskers. Volgens mij is Mexico ook veruit best bezochte gp, alleen al daarom lekker op de kalender laten staan.

      Daar heeft Ricciardo het al over gehad. BBQ en steaks.....
      Ook wil hij weer een snor of grote bakkebaarden laten staan en een
      cowboy hoed op. Dus de clown uithangen.
      Maar dat zal hier nog wel worden gemeld. :-)

      @Hooligans Racing. Ric had in Japan al een "baard" van een paar dagen.
      Hij had zich naar eigen zeggen niet geschoren, zodat hij nog kon kiezen
      of hij voor een snor, bakkebaarden of beiden zou gaan in Texas. :-)

    Er zijn door de jaren heen trouwens ook hele saaie races geweest op Monza of andere klassieke circuits, wie weet pakt het dit jaar wel leuk uit.

      Site is zeker goed, hun Twitter is ook vaak interessant. Vorig jaar wat mij betreft ook een leuke race op die baan. Het lijkt een goed georganiseerd circuit ondanks de verhalen vorig jaar over financiële tekorten (ook zonder die tornado...). Hopelijk dit jaar gewoon volle bak racen en veel publiek!
