Daniel Ricciardo: "Ferrari moet Mexico achter zich laten"

Red Bull Racing-coureur Daniel Ricciardo is van mening dat Ferrari de gebeurtenissen tijdens de Grand Prix van Mexico achter zich moet laten. Na de race vond er een bizarre wending plaats. De aanvankelijk vierde plaats van Vettel werd een derde, maar Vettel kreeg een paar uur na de race alsnog een tijdstraf van tien seconden vanwegen het bewegen in de remzone. Ferrari tekende beroep aan, maar ving bot. In Brazilië werd nogmaals protest ingediend, maar het verzoek werd afgewezen.

Ondanks de afwijzing door de stewards diende Ferrari daarna opnieuw protest in. Volgens Ricciardo is de Grand Prix van Mexico wat hem betreft nu afgesloten: "Om er nu nog mee bezig te zijn, gaat wat ver als ik eerlijk ben. Ik hoop dat het na vanavond echt klaar is. Natuurlijk is Ferrari met ons in gevecht om de tweede plaats bij de constructeurs en snap ik dat ze punten terug proberen te krijgen."

Door de straffen van teamgenoot Max Verstappen en later Sebastian Vettel promoveerde Daniel Ricciardo van een vijfde plaats naar een derde plaats. De Australiër stelde daarmee de derde plaats in het rijderskampioenschap veilig.

    Waar Ferrari niet aan denkt is dat ze ook andere coureurs benadelen, zoals Ricciardo. Die is wel klaar hiermee, zoals blijkt.

    Jammer dat Ferrari zo kinderachtig doet. Dat heeft zo'n groot team toch niet nodig.

      Ricciardo is geen Ferrari coureur, dus waarom vind je dat ze rekening met hem moeten houden?
      Ferrari wil zijn punten hebben omdat het over veel geld gaat als ze 2e worden i.p.v. 3e.

    Even Offtopic. Beste F-1Today; ik zie hier dat de stand om de constructeurstitel op deze site niet helemaal klopt. Red Bull heeft volgend mij 419 punten en geen 425 punten zoals hier staat.

      Benno329: Max en Daniel hebben same 419 punten. Maar Max reed de 1e 4 races in een Toro Rosso, pakte daarmee 13 punten, terwijl Kvyat in de Red Bull 21 punten pakte, vandaar dat Red Bull 8 punten meer heeft dan beide huidige couruers samen.
