Alonso blij, Button begrijpt niet wat er aan de hand is

Een kwalificatie met wisselend succes voor het team van McLaren. Fernando Alonso zette zijn McLaren op de tiende startplaats neer, terwijl Jenson Button niet verder kwam dan een teleurstellende zeventiende startplaats. Alonso is blij met zijn auto, terwijl Button niet snapt wat er tussen vrijdag en zaterdag is veranderd.

Alonso had niet verwacht dat McLaren de top tien zou halen en spreekt van een goede dag: "Ik heb echt genoten van de kwalificatie en voelde me erg comfortabel in de kwalificatie. De koelere omstandigheden zijn echt in ons voordeel en we hebben het maximale eruit gehaald. Na de derde training was ik wel wat ongerust, omdat onze snelheid nog niet helemaal goed was. Toen ik Jenson Button zag afvallen na Q1 maakte ik me echt zorgen. Gelukkig deed mijn auto het wel goed en wist ik steeds meer tijd te vinden. Ik hoop dat de verloren tijd op vrijdag niet teveel invloed zal hebben op mijn race. In de race verwachten ze ook koele omstandigheden en er kan regen gaan vallen, ik ben blij in de top tien te starten."

Aan de andere kant van de garage een minder vrolijke Jenson Button. De Brit was op vrijdag tevreden met zijn auto, maar kreeg het op zaterdag niet voor elkaar: "De auto voelde echt goed aan op vrijdag en aan het einde van de dag stond ik tiende. De derde training en kwalificatie waren echter een compleet ander verhaal. Er klopt iets niet, de auto zou niet zo aan moeten voelen. Het is frustrerend wanneer je niet de snelheid hebt. In koelere omstandigheden zou je meer grip moeten hebben, maar de auto is erg nerveus. De banden gaan er dan al snel aan en je hebt niet meer de grip die je nodig hebt. We moeten zien wat we van de race kunnen maken."

  Maar goed, Top van Alonso en Button is al half met pensioen / sabbatical.
  Misschien ook omdat R. Dennis op de wip zit dat Alonso zo blij als een kind is.

  Zeg jij nou dat McLaren in 2017 een Chinese renstal is? of dat Alonso in 2017 de overstap maakt naar Red Bull? Zielegeneuve. Beide niet onmogenlijk maar niet denkbaar dunkt mij.

  @VF Ik sluit t niet uit dat Mclaren Chinees wordt. Dennis is een taaie. Ric en Alo wisselen lijkt me geen serieuze optie. wellicht Vet en Ric?

  Kort maar krachtig: Er is geen enkele reden om dat te doen. De topteams zijn allen bezet met goede rijders die zelf ook niet weg willen, zoals het er nu voor staat. En al zouden ze weg willen, er is geen realistisch alternatief mogelijk.
