Snelste raceronden uit de Grand Prix van Brazilië

Red Bull Racing-coureur Max Verstappen heeft een nieuw record gevestigd. Hij heeft als jongste Formule 1-coureur ooit een snelste raceronde op zijn naam gezet. De 19-jarige Nederlander noteerde in de 67ste ronde een 1:25.305. Daarmee was hij net iets sneller dan teamgenoot Daniel Ricciardo. Verstappen is met zijn 19 jaar, 1 maand en 14 dagen bijna anderhalf jaar jonger dan toen Nico Rosberg - de vorige recordhouder - in Bahrein 2006 de snelste ronde van de wedstrijd klokte.     Maarja, Max natuurlijk wel op nieuwere banden dan bijvoorbeeld Hamilton en Rosberg. In het begin van de race toen Max op de tweede positie lag kon Hamilton de rondetijden van Max pareren met snellere rondes. Ik denk daarom dat hij Hamilton niet zou hebben ingehaald.

      Ja dat denk ik ook, maar aan de andere kant zeggen ze dat nieuwe regenbanden niet heel veel sneller zijn dan oudere regenbanden.

      Een ander ding dat zou kunnen; Max heeft nog heel weinig ervaring in de regen met een F1-auto. Zijn leercurve zou dus stijlen kunnen zijn, waardoor hij aan het einde van de race echt de limiet kon opzoeken die hij eerder nog niet aandurfde of kon vinden. :-)

      Elke rijder heeft maar 2 setjes extremes tot zijn beschikking.
      Max kreeg dus gebruikte extremes bij zijn laatste pitstop.

    Bijna nieuwe banden in kombinatie met lichtere auto. Wel mooi record weer.

      Waren geen nieuwe banden, ze waren eerder in de race al gebruikt.
      Plus dat ze in die omstandigheden zonder probleem een hele race mee kunnen.
      Slijtage is minimaal op een dergelijke natte baan.
      Ricciardo had vergelijkbare banden op dat moment, en wist maar 4 plaatsen te winnen.

      Ik zeg toch ook bijna nieuwe banden Nicos. Volgens Pirelli kan dat wel klein verschil opleveren ondanks minimale slijtage in de regen.

    Zeker heeft hij in de regen gereden kijk maar naar de controle die hij had over de auto met die glijparty ! Dat kun je niet zomaar ff!

      Die reed op de intermediate zijn snelle tijd. Button viel niet uit toch? Werd laatste.

      Ik dat dat je de manier waarop kunt omschrijven als uitvallen, komt dicht in de buurt bij zwaar tegenvallen. Nog 1 GP.
