Red Bull Racing vermaakt zich in de woestijn

Red Bull Racing organiseerde gisteren een evenement voor de pers in Abu Dhabi. De Oostenrijkse renstal zorgde voor crossmotors, buggy's en buikdanseressen. Max Verstappen en Daniel Ricciardo leefden zich uit in het woestijnzand.

Verstappen grapte na afloop: "Ik ben blij dat ik niet gecrasht ben. Motorrijden is altijd leuk en hier in de woestijn is het helemaal speciaal. Ik denk dat we hier blijven." Ricciardo voegde toe: "Kunnen we inderdaad niet gewoon hier blijven en de meetings met het team via FaceTime doen? Dit is verslavend."

    Je zal maar een blessure oplopen, bijvb een gekneusde pols of zo, het is toch een risico, ik dacht dat je baas je kan verplichten om risicovolle sporten te verbieden.

      Ik dacht precies hetzelfde @Dale U, was logischer geweest van het team om die jongens zich na het weekend in de woestijn te laten uitleven.

      Dan rijd 1 van de 2 coureurs komend weekend niet.
      Behalve eventueel een 4e plek voor Max is er niets meer te behalen voor RBR.
      Sterker nog, elk punt wat ze scoren kost geld.

      Aan het begin van komend seizoen gaan we RIC en VES na elk GP weekend weer verpakken in bubbeltjesplastic ;-)

      Gewoon de reserve coureur laten rijden in dat geval. Het is de laatste race, er staat (bijna) niets meer op het spel bij RBR. Aan het begin van het seizoen denk ik wel dat Horner minder blij zou zijn met dit soort fratsen.

      Was ook mijn eerste gedachte, maar het blijkt dat het door RBR is
      georganiseerd. Snap ik niet zo goed ivm de risico's. Er was wel
      een leraar bij die hen begeleidde.

      Volgens mij valt het met dat crossen wel mee, ik moet nog bewegende beelden bekijken , maar ik geloof niet dat hun "op zn red bull xfighters style, haha" aan het rond sjezen waren.

      Ze moeten Verstappen verplichten om tijdens de "trackwalk" een helm te dragen als ie iedere met zijn petje achterstevoren hard over het circuit dendert met zijn racefiets. Dat vind ik veel gevaarlijker. Zo, nu heb ik mijn puntje gemaakt..

      Het was vanavond te zien bij NOS Sportjournaal. Wel leuk.
      Volgens mij is het niet echt zijn ding, zo'n crossmotor. Hij kan het beter bij zijn F1 bolide houden.
