Mercedes bereid om Grand Prix Duitsland te redden

Eerder deze week werd bekend dat de Grand Prix van Duitsland in 2017 niet doorgaat. Oorzaak van het schrappen van de race zijn financiële problemen bij de organisatie. Mercedes laat weten dat het bereid zou zijn om de organisatie financieel te ondersteunen, zodat de race in de toekomst terug kan keren op de kalender.

Toto Wolff van Mercedes laat net als Bernie Ecclestone weten het niet helemaal te begrijpen waarom er volgend jaar geen Duitse GP is: "Misschien is het vanwege de vele kampioenschappen die Michael Schumacher en Sebastian Vettel hebben gewonnen. Ik zou liegen als ik zeg dat wij de race in het verleden niet financieel wilden ondersteunen. We zijn bereid dat te doen, maar met ons gebaar van destijds is niets gedaan."

Moet maar eens afvragen waarom een baan in problemen komt. Als je vanuit een gezond perspectief kijkt, moet een baan self reguleend kunnen werken.. sponsors zelf aantrekken edergelijken...Maar bij ieder contract besprekingen vraagd F1 en consorten tientallen miljoenen meer.     Nürburgring oke, maar geen Hockenheim aub. Dat is tegenwoordig een nietszeggend baantje geworden. Kraak noch smaak.

      Nee, de Nurburgring, dat is wat. Zit je op zn best 300 meter van het asfalt af. Leuk, 500 euro aftikken en dan met een verrekijker op de tribune zitten. Wat mij betreft verdwijnen ze beide permanent, zal er geen traan om laten.

      Nou Beemerdude, overdrijven is ook een vak, ik woon er bijna, en ben er jaarlijks zeer vaak te vinden. Je kunt prima dicht op de baan komen hoor, ze rijden bijna over je tenen mocht je dat willen. Bernie moet gewoon water bij de wijn doen voor de europese circuits, max 5 miljoen vragen zodat de circuits een dikke cent kunnen verdienen. Maarja zolang bernie 1 miljard wil overmaken aan de teams ieder jaar gaat dat niet lukken en rijden we op zandbakbanen.

      @VERFUKTF1: Er is niks met jouw verhaal. Waarom wordt Marko gecorrigeerd en Toto niet. Is Toto de baas van Mercedes??? Dan had Marko veranderd moeten worden in Christian. Teambaas tegen teambaas. En dus niet Mateschitz.

Veelal werden die ook voorgeschoten door de overheid. Als de fans daalt ook doordat alles te duur word is het simpel weg 1+1=2 Het word gewoon te duur

    @Ringo Ben het helemaal eens met je. Ben ook blij met dit initiatief van Mercedes. Grand Prix van Duitsland hoort er bij. Zou ook mooi zijn voor de Nederlandse fans. Kunnen we een race van Max weer dicht bij huis volgen.

    Ik zou nurbergring dan wel als race terug willen boven Hockenheim. Het liefst zelfs nog een deel van het oude circuit erbij of zelfs helemaal, dat zou voor mij toch wel het ultieme zijn.
