Komende week is het eindelijk weer zover, dan klinkt op het Circuit de Catalunya in de buurt van Barcelona het geluid van brullende V6-motoren. De Formule 1 ontwaakt uit de winterslaap en begint op 27 februari aan de eerste test ter voorbereiding op het nieuwe seizoen. De afgelopen week deden de presentaties van de bolides voor 2017 het hart van menig fan al sneller kloppen. Iedereen maakt op voorhand inschattingen van de teams en de rijders. Zo schatten de bookmakers Verstappen hoger in dan Ricciardo en Bottas maar wel achter Lewis Hamilton. Denk jij wel dat het gat tussen Red Bull Racing en Mercedes gedicht is voor komend seizoen? Dan is dit het moment om in te zetten, als uit de wintertests blijkt dat je gelijk hebt krijg je veel lagere odds.

Red Bull Racing, weer Mercedes of gaat Ferrari verrassen?

Het is nog koffiedik kijken wat betreft de verhoudingen voor komend seizoen. Heeft Mercedes opnieuw de snelste wagen of is de regerend kampioen achterhaald door Red Bull Racing? Wat kan Ferrari dit jaar? Wie zijn de positieve uitschieters en welke teams vallen tegen?

Op al die vragen zal de eerste test voorzichtig wat eerste antwoorden geven, maar niemand zal zich in die eerst week in de kaart laten kijken. De eerste wintertests staan voor de teams in het teken van de nieuwe reglementen zo legde ook Niki Lauda al uit, die zelf vorige week zijn contract met Mercedes verlengde.

De teams zullen de eerste wintertest gebruiken om zich de nieuwe reglementen helemaal eigen te maken, legde Niki Lauda al uit. In de pauze tussen de testdagen in worden vervolgens belangrijke updates doorgevoerd. Tijdens de tweede wintertest krijgen we een eerste indruk van de onderlinge krachtsverhoudingen.

Uiteraard is er extra aandacht voor de prestaties van Max Verstappen in de RB13. Vorig jaar zorgde hij voor een daverende verrassing door in Barcelona zijn eerste Grand Prix te winnen. Gaat hij dit jaar Mercedes van de eerste plaats afhouden? Hieronder de odds voor komend Formule 1 seizoen waarbij Verstappen als tweede wordt ingeschaald.

Speculeren is leuk maar in feite heb je er geen drol aan, zelfs na Melbourne niet. Als we richting Barcelona gaan heb je pas een goed beeld. Dan komen ook de meeste updatesen zie je wie zijn huiswerk het beste heeft gedaan. Hoop vurig dat Max dan toch al wel in de top 3 staat...
