Massa: "Ik hoop dat we de goede lijn door trekken"

Ferrari-coureur Felipe Massa is voorzichtig optimistisch over het restant van het seizoen. Zijn Italiaanse werkgever is aan een goede tweede seizoenshelft bezig, alleen in België presteerde Ferrari tegenvallend. Met een nieuwe voor- en een nieuwe achtervleugel en een nieuwe vloer wil het team in Singapore Red Bull Racing het vuur aan de schenen leggen.

Massa: Ik hoop dat we competitief zijn in Singapore, ik hoop dat we de resterende vijf races overal competitief zijn. We moeten er klaar voor zijn en onze concurrenten in de gaten houden. Red Bull Racing is al het hele jaar sterk en McLaren is meer wisselvallig, maar heeft krachtige uitschieters. Daar moeten we ons bewust van zijn, dat de concurrentie hevig is voor elke Grand Prix die nog volgt. In Monaco waren we competitief en hopelijk zijn we dat in Singapore ook.

Het gevoel is dat ons seizoen uit hoogte- en dieptepunten bestaat. Zelf heb ik drie slechte races meegemaakt, in Montreal, Valencia en Silverstone. Daardoor ben ik een flink aantal punten misgelopen waarmee ik anders in een goede positie had gezeten om mee te doen aan de titelstrijd. Mijn kampioenschap is dus niet geweldig, maar het is waar dat wij de afgelopen vier races meer punten hebben gescoord dan wie dan ook. Ik hoop dat we die lijn door trekken.

Mocht je alles meegemaakt hebben hetgeen Massa de voorbije 3 jaar heeft meegemaakt dan zou je ook veel het woordje hoop gebruiken.
