Alonso: "Hulp nodig van onder andere het weer voor goede klassering"

Fernando Alonso sloot de kwalificatie af met plaats 13 en als Ricciardo inderdaad van versnellingsbak wisselt dan schuift hij nog een plaatsje op. Na afloop was hij zelfs opvallend positief richting de pers.

"Na alle moeilijkheden die wij tijdens de wintertests tegen kwamen, hadden wij geen idee waar wij stonden in aanloop naar Melbourne", aldus Alonso. "Maar wij zijn de sessies doorgekomen zonder noemenswaardige problemen en dat is beter dan verwacht", zo gaat hij verder. 

Hulp nodig van het weer

Alonso, volgens menigeen de beste coureur van het veld, was blij met de balans van de wagen en hij kon echt aanvallen. Maar hij houdt nog wel een slag om de arm: "Wij starten morgen als 13e, midden in het veld, wat niet bepaald ons doel is. Maar de race finishen is al moeilijk genoeg." Om vervolgens nog een goede klassering te halen als ze de geblokte vlag halen is er volgens de Spanjaard hulp van het weer nodig en moeten andere rijders problemen tegenkomen. 

Teambaas Eric Boullier is erg tevreden en zei dat Alonso echt het maximale uit de wagen had gehaald. "Meer kan onze wagen op dit moment niet leveren. Bravo!"

Al die mensen met feedback en ontwikkelen, alonso's feedback is uitmuntend en goed genoeg. Men doet tegenwoordig net alsof de coureur naast coureur zijnde ook motorspecialist en chassisexpert en allerlei pHD's hebben behaald op dat gebied.

      Ik heb eigenlijk liever dat hij 30 ronden 3/4/5 rijdt en dan uitvalt eerlijk gezegd... maar ik snap heel goed wat je bedoeld!

      Hopelijk blijft het mooi weer anders zit Fernando met zijn klapstoeltje in de regen.
      Hoop overigens wel dat beide McLarens de eindstreep halen.

    Nog knap dat hij de 13e plek heeft gescoord....nu hopen dat in ieder geval 1 van de 2 auto's (liefst beiden) de race kan voltooien om genoeg data te genereren.

    Jammer dat zijn talent wel optimaal gebruikt wordt maar geen echte strijd om podiumprijzen levert. Je zou bijna zeggen dat zon talent verloren gaat.

      Alonso is absoluut een topper in het keihard rondjes racen en het overzicht te houden in een race. Maar over zijn kwaliteiten om een auto door feedback door te ontwikkelen, zijn al vaker vraagtekens gezet. Dat is wel een minpuntje vind ik.

      Welke coureur van het huidige deelnemers veld is dan een kei in het ontwikkelen van de auto d.m.v. feedback?? Heb in die zin geen enkele progressie gezien het afgelopen seizoen bij de teams. Daar gaat tegenwoordig allang niet meer om, ze kunnen alleen nog maar aangeven dat ze onder/overstuur hebben en dat ze wat meer/minder vleugel willen. Oh ja en hoe ze het lekkerst zitten/liggen in de auto. Auto's zijn te gecompliceerd geworden.

      Coureurs bepalen hooguit mee de set-up van de wagen, de ontwikkeling zelf is aan ingenieurs.

      Helemaal mee eens, Stoffel en Alonso zijn gewoon steengoed. Ze rijden nu in een mindere wagen, Dat interesseert me niet. Die wagen is gewoon bagger. Zet ze in een mercedes en ze doen gewoon mee.

    Ten eerste is Alonse echt niet de race god wat veel mensen beweren.
    Ten tweede zal het wel mee vallen dat hij tijdens het seizoen stopt.
    Met immers honderden miljoenen op zijn rekening zal hij best wel door willen modderen.

    Als hij echt stopt na een paar races herzie ik mijn mening misschien..
