Eerste 'Fastest Pit Stop'-award van 2017 naar Williams

De banden zijn breder en de auto's zijn veranderd, maar het team dat de snelste pitstops aflevert is vooralsnog hetzelfde gebleven. Williams eiste vorig jaar al de DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award voor zich op en in de eerste Grand Prix van 2017 was de Britse renstal opnieuw de snelste. Het team had 2,34 seconden nodig om de banden bij Felipe Massa te verwisselen en hem weer op pad te sturen.

Gezien de top drie-notering van Lance Stroll heeft Williams de zaakjes wat pitstops betreft weer aardig op orde. Mercedes legde beslag op de tweede plaats. Ook op dit vlak is er werk aan de winkel voor Red Bull Racing, de Oostenrijkse renstal kwam niet verder dan de zevende plek. Voor de DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award is dit jaar gekozen voor dezelfde puntentelling als die voor de races.

Ik denk dat de prioriteiten wel elders liggen dan het winnen van 0.7 seconden in een hele race..
