Force India langzamer dan Toro Rosso en Haas F1

De achterkant van de auto is een van de zwakke plekken van de Force India VJM10. Dat heeft coureur Sergio Perez laten doorschemeren. De Mexicaan kwam in Australië als zevende over de finish, maar dat was volgens hem geflatteerd. Force India heeft wat Perez betreft op dit moment zeker niet de vierde of vijfde auto in de pikorde.

"Als team hebben we een perfect weekend achter de rug, daar ben ik blij mee", steekt hij van wal. "Williams is op dit moment buiten bereik. Scuderia Toro Rosso was ook sneller dan wij waren, evenals Haas F1 Team. Dat we die teams op de baan hebben verslagen, onder meer door middel van een betere strategie, daar mag het team tevreden over zijn."

"Maar we moeten wel aan de slag met de auto. We hebben in het verleden wel vaker gezien dat Force India niet altijd even geweldig aan een seizoen begint. Dit was misschien wel onze beste seizoensstart in vier jaar. Dat is bemoedigend, maar we hebben nog een lange weg te gaan. We weten dat de plek waarop we in Australië geëindigd zijn eigenlijk niet onze positie is."

VJM10 niet in balans

Perez legt uit waar het aan schort bij Force India: "We hebben de auto verbeterd sinds de wintertests, maar er zijn nog wel wat zwakke plekken. De achterkant van de wagen bijvoorbeeld. We slagen er niet in om de VJM10 goed in balans te brengen, waardoor we met veel onderstuur kampen. Daar dienen we een oplossing voor te verzinnen."

Als ze de rest van het pakket verbeteren kunnen ze zeker stunten.

  Makkelijker gezegd dan gedaan met een budget van 100mil. maar goed, Haas kan het ook met een budget van 100mil. Denk ook dat hij Renault nog even vergeet te vermelden, want ik verwacht namelijk dat zij grotere stappen zullen maken. Qua motor, maar ook qua chassis. Zij hebben een veel groter budget.

  Een houten kist op wieltjes met een Mercedes motor is nog altijd beter dan een McLaren met Honda motor.

Ook met deze auto heeft men dus moeite om de juiste balans te vinden, ze zou bijna gaan denken dat bij RB ook het probleem aan de achterzijde zit (mogelijk de vin) aangezien zij ook afstellings/balans problemen hebben.

Force India is een team dat gedurende een jaar altijd beter wordt. Dat zag je voorgaande jaren ook. Eens dat STR en Haas sneller zijn. Force India is in ieder geval wel zeer betrouwbaar en Perez is echt goed en stabiel geworden.

  Perez is inderdaad prima en onderschat Ocon ook niet. Fraaie line-up voor zo’n klein team.
  
  Is er al een team langs gekomen dat heeft gezegd dat de balans in Australië helemaal top was? Dacht het niet.

En wat is die auto lelijk!.. kan er nog steeds niet over uit.
Kan vast beter dan, je zal maar een Claro, NEC of Johnnie Walker zijn en je sponsoring op deze BWT zuurstok zien staan elke week..

Daarentegen, misschien ga je juist wel sneller aan de Whiskey als F1-fan na het zien van deze eyesore

  Dat is nog steeds subjectief @Rev. Persoonlijk vind ik de livery met dat roze in contrast met dat zwart prachtig, het ontwerp van de auto vind ik nog steeds matig.

Tja, het voordel t.o.v. Haas is de line-up qua coureurs. Zoals ook afgelopen race te zien rijdt Kevin "ik-ben-een-fucking-legend" Magnussen nog geen deuk in een bakje boter. Misschien leuk voor de social media guys om de variatie Lord Magnussen in het leven te roepen (voor meer info zie "Lord Bendtner").

Als Haas de betrouwbaarheidsproblemen in de race nog steeds niet te boven komt, zal FI kans hebben op mooie punten. Verwacht een mooi gevecht met Torro Rosso, toch heel verschillende auto's! Daarnaast heeft FI de zaakjes echt uitstekend voor elkaar met die dikke Benz achterin en het lange rechte stuk op Shangai International Circuit. De bijzondere livery, goede coureurs en een auto bol van sponsoren... echt lekker bezig daar!
