Romain Grosjean: "Problemen met betrouwbaarheid op te lossen"

Dat er met de snelheid van de Haas VF-17 niets mis is liet Romain Grosjean vorige week zien in Australië. De ervaren Fransman kwalificeerde zich keurig in de top tien en in de race leek het erop dat er goede punten gescoord konden worden. Een technisch probleem beëindigde de race van Grosjean, maar de GP2-kampioen van 2011 is optimistisch over de kansen voor de Grand Prix van China.

Geen fundamentele problemen met betrouwbaarheid

Grosjean laat weten dat de problemen met de betrouwbaarheid geen grote problemen zijn en dat het belangrijk is dat er met de snelheid van zijn bolide niets mis is: "De auto voelde goed aan. We kregen de afstelling al vrij snel goed voor elkaar. Ik voelde me het hele weekend comfortabel in de auto. Ook in de race voelde alles goed aan en kon ik mijn positie in de punten eenvoudig consolideren. Helaas zorgde een technisch probleem voor het einde van mijn race, maar het weekend kende veel positieve momenten die we mee kunnen nemen naar China. De problemen met de betrouwbaarheid komen we wel te boven."

Goede basis om op verder te bouwen

Grosjean laat verder weten dat de basis van zijn auto goed genoeg is om structureel in de top tien te kwalificeren en punten te scoren in de races. Grosjean neemt het voor lief dat er wat kleine problemen zijn met de betrouwbaarheid, een auto zonder snelheid is een groter probleem: "Het is altijd goed om een snelle auto te hebben die nog niet niet helemaal betrouwbaar is. Ik zou het niet naar mijn zin hebben als we iedere race vijftiende worden, mijn doel is om structureel in de top tien te finishen. De problemen met de betrouwbaarheid zullen we oplossen. "

Gio moet ernaast,, Grosjean moet uitgedaagd worden en beide rijders moeten strijden en goede punten pakken! De Haas is half Ferrari, daar zit veeel meer in.

  Zou je best eens gelijk in kunnen hebben. Grosjean heeft zo geen enkele referentie en een goede teamgenoot kan hem net dat ietsje pushen om er meer uit te halen. Zie Ricciardo en Verstappen.

Romain Grosjean zal dit seizoen het onderste uit de kan willen halen nu het zitje van Kimi aan het eind van het jaar vacant lijkt(!) te worden.
Wil hij ooit nog bij een topteam als Ferrari terechtkomen is het waarschijnlijk zijn laatste kans.
Misschien moet ie af en toe ook een bratwurstje met Sebastian essen gehen.

  Ik denk dat ze voor Perez gaan, die presteert zeer goed en constant, en is net 27 geworden. Grosjean wordt deze maand ook alweer 31, en komt op mij soms toch een beetje over als, snel op z'n pikkie getrapt.

  Ja Perez zou ook zo maar kunnen zeker als hij zijn vorm (goed en constant) dit seizoen een vervolg geeft, maar bij Ferrari vinden ze 31 nog niet te oud vermoed ik.
  En Sergio moet zijn teamgenoot verslaan, wat dat betreft heeft Romain het een flink stuk makkelijker.
  
  Allez... het duurt nog wel effe en wanneer het zover is zal de halve grid wel worden genoemd.
