Voor wie zich afvraagt welke banden de teams gekozen hebben voor de Grand Prix van Bahrein dit weekend; de bandenselectie is voor de eerste vijf races van 2017 in handen van bandenleverancier Pirelli. Dat is ingegeven door de vele regelwijzigingen en de introductie van de bredere banden voor dit weekend.

De Italiaanse bandenfabrikant zal tot en met de Spaanse Grand Prix elk weekend twee setjes van de hardste compound die het genomineerd heeft meebrengen, vier setjes van de middelste compound en zeven setjes van de zachtste compound. Voor Bahrein komt dat neer op twee sets medium, vier sets zacht en zeven sets superzacht.
