Daniel Ricciardo: "Een podiumplaats zou een enorme beloning zijn"

Ook Daniel Ricciardo krijgt van Sky de gelegenheid om nog even zijn zegje te doen over de race. Uiteraard was hij erg tevreden met zijn plek in de kwalificatie, maar hij gaat voor het podium natuurlijk.

Ricciardo: "Het was mooi om op de tweede rij te komen, we verwachtte het niet echt om eerlijk te zijn. Maar we hebben vaker laten zien dat wij met aanpassingen wat meer tijd uit de auto kunnen halen. Het is mooi om tussen de Ferrari’s te staan en wat dichter bij de voorste rij te staan."

Podium zou een beloning zijn

De racecondities konden de rijders nog wel eens parten gaan spelen zo denkt de Red Bull-coureur: "De wind zal een grote rol spelen tijdens het besturen van de wagen en dat kan voor sommige teams betekenen dat de banden sneller aftakelen. Daar gaan teams problemen mee krijgen dus dat is belangrijk om goed in de gaten te houden."

Op de vraag of er een podiumplaats in zit zegt Ricciardo: “Ja, dat is zeker mogelijk. We gaan de baan op onder gelijk omstandigheden en een podiumplaats zou een enorme beloning zijn.” Ondertussen dollen Max en Daniel wat op de paddock:
