Max Verstappen: "Goed voor de banden zorgen"

Max Verstappen start de Grand Prix van Bahrein straks vanaf de zesde plaats. Beide coureurs van Red Bull hebben een klein strategisch voordeel ten opzichte van Mercedes en Ferrari: zowel Daniel Ricciardo of Max Verstappen heeft nog een setje gloednieuwe superzachte banden. Ziggo Sport voelde Verstappen op de grid nog aan de tand en vroeg hem naar zijn plan voor de race.

"Ik heb niets bedacht, ik ga gewoon hard racen. Het is belangrijk om goed voor de banden te zorgen, vanuit daar kun je je strategie bepalen. Bij de start moeten we meteen in de aanval om naar voren te komen. Ik wil gewoon een goede race rijden, we willen dichter bij Ferrari zou zitten. Uiteraard wil ik hoger eindigen dan de zesde plaats", aldus Verstappen in een interview met Jack Plooij op de grid.
