Sebastian Vettel: "Lagere temperaturen Rusland geen probleem voor ons"

Ferrari-coureur Sebastian Vettel denkt dat hij ook in Rusland mee kan doen voor de overwinning. De viervoudig wereldkampioen won twee van de drie tot dusver verreden races en ziet geen reden waarom Ferrari het in koelere omstandigheden niet goed zou kunnen doen.

Na de hitte van Bahrein, waar de temperaturen opliepen tot rond de veertig graden, wordt de Grand Prix van Rusland onder koelere omstandigheden verreden. De temperatuur op het Sochi Autodrom zal rond de twintig graden liggen gedurende het Grand Prix-weekend.

Ferrari wil de druk op Mercedes houden

"Ik denk niet dat we het in Rusland lastiger zullen hebben dan in Bahrein. In Shanghai was het veel koeler dan wat ze verwachten in Sochi en ook daar waren we snel. We moeten de druk vol op Mercedes houden, in het bijzonder op Lewis Hamilton. Tot dusver heeft Ferrari het uitstekend voor elkaar wat betreft de strategie en dat houden we graag zo", aldus Vettel in een interview met de Italiaanse sportkrant Gazetta dello Sport.

Sebastian Vettel zal niet met een goed gevoel terugdenken aan de race van vorig jaar. Het was Daniil Kvyat (op dat moment nog in de Red Bull) die Vettel tot twee maal toe van achteraan reed en dat betekende in de eerste ronde al einde race voor de Duitser. Een paar dagen later werd Kvyat bij Red Bull Racing vervangen door Max Verstappen.

Banden zijn op Sochi sowieso geen probleem ... Zullen dus eerst op een circuit moeten wachten wat wel "moeilijk" is voor de banden .....
