Williams veilt race-outfit en laarzen voor actie Billy Monger

Het ongeval van de 17-jarige Billy Monger blijft uiteraard de gemoederen bezig houden. De jonge coureur crashte op een verschrikkelijke manier en moet daardoor zijn onderbenen missen. Al snel werd een inzamelingsactie gestart met als doel 260.000 pond op te halen. Inmiddels staat de teller op ruim 750.000 pond nadat veel coureurs en teams ook een forse donatie deden. 

Maar het inzamelen is nog niet gestopt zo stelt het team van Williams Racing een gesigneerde race-outfit van Felipe Massa en de laarzen van Lance Stroll die gedragen zullen worden tijdens de Grand Prix van Rusland ter beschikking. Het hoogste bod staat op het moment van schrijven op 1.245 pond, maar er zijn pas een paar biedingen gedaan. 

En Billy Monger? Die laat een enorme veerkracht zien en is alweer bezig met zijn toekomst als coureur. Go Billy!

    Wel mee willen den ,maar mag niks kosten? Wat moet iemand met die rommel van STR? Racepak van MAS kan ik me nog iets bij voorstellen.......

      Voor de schoenen van Lance kunnen ze wel een aardig bedrag vragen. Z.g.a.n; amper gebruikt tijdens de races.

      Williams heeft meteen een donatie gedaan van 30 000 pond.
      Was te zien op de donatie site.
      Dit is gewoon een actie om anderen ook iets te laten geven.

      Een coureur als VER doneerde 80.000 dollar. Dat had Williams ook kunnen en moeten doen. Nu moeten anderen voor hun rommel betalen die het geld niet kunnen missen..ze moeten zich kapot schamen!;-)

      Bij donaties is "iets doneren" toch de prioriteit? Hoeveel , of wat .... dat is toch niet zo spannend?

      Zeuren is wel gratis. Al lijkt het wel alsof sommigen een fles azijn hebben opgezopen.

      Lezen met een VER brilletje is aan sommigen gewoon niet besteed.

    Ik wil niet lullig zijn, maar waarom is het dat bij deze jongen zoveel geld ter beschikking komt. Er zijn zoveel jongeren die in een situatie terecht zijn gekomen in een ongeluk en ledematen zijn kwijtgeraakt en geen geld zien. Deze jonge knaap heeft ervoor gekozen om in een sport uit te komen waar dit soort ongelukken mogelijk zijn. Het is gewoon zo krom en het lijkt mij zo lastig voor jongeren die de racesport volgen en in een soortgelijke situatie zitten.

      Daar is gewoonweg geen antwoord op, dus niet lullig bedoelt, maar waarom is daarom.
      Dit is gebeurt en in de media gekomen en mensen voelen een soort verwantschap en zijn bereidt te doneren.
      Kan je allemaal dingen bij halen (en misschien wel terecht), zoals hypocriet, onneerlijk, etc.
      Laten we in ieder geval blij zijn dat er voor deze jongen wel wat gedaan is.

    Ze kunnen beter de filmrechten hierover vastleggen. Van opgroeien van de jongen, leren racen, het ongeluk, de donaties, de media aandacht, het herstel tot aan de eerste race die hij als een Zanardi over een aantal jaar weer rijdt!
