Valtteri Bottas: "P3 is altijd een goede uitgangspositie"

Nadat hij in Sochi de eerste zege uit zijn carrière pakte vanaf P3, mag Valtteri Bottas in Barcelona wederom van die plek starten. De Fin lijkt in ieder geval op weg naar een verrassend sterk debuutseizoen bij Mercedes en kan ook in Spanje weer gaan strijden voor de zege. De Fin maakte echter een klein foutje in de laatste sector, waardoor hij niet het perfecte rondje wist te rijden.

Tijdens het grid interview toonde de Fin zich toch tevreden over zijn derde startplek: "De derde plek is altijd een goede uitgangspositie, maar ik had geen perfect rondje en de problemen met mijn motor vanochtend hielpen ook niet echt. Nu we de oude motor weer gemonteerd hebben, kunnen weer zonder problemen rijden. Het is zoals het is."

      Inderdaad, die goeie start van Alonso kan nog wel een dingetje worden voor Verstappen.

      Volgens mij start Fernando sneller maar is Max beter in meteen daarna de gaten vinden.

      Max en Fernando zijn mijn twee favorieten, zijn imo allebei even goed.
      Er kan er maar één vooraan rijden, maar gun het ze allebei. ;-))
      Zou ze zo graag in een gelijkwaardige wagen zien rijden.

      @Pietje. Fernando moet zich ff inhouden bij de start en kan dan in de kielzog van Max samen met onze landgenoot tussen de Mercedessen en Ferrari’s door de leiding pakken. ;)

    Zo verrassend vind ik zijn seizoen bij Mercedes niet. Bottas is gewoon een degelijke coureur met een megasterke auto. Logisch dat hij voorin goed mee kan komen.
