Christian Horner: "Mercedes ziet er kwetsbaar uit, 2e startrij mogelijk"

Daniel Ricciardo moest de auto aan het van VT3 aan de kant zetten en dus moesten de engineers van Red Bull Racing vol aan de bak om de auto op tijd klaar te krijgen voor de kwalificatie.

Teambaas Christian Horner: "Gelukkig wist Daniel de auto uit de vangrail te houden en wisten wij vrij snel wat het probleem was met de remmen en het was een redelijk eenvoudig reparatie." De remmen zijn dit jaar al vaker het probleem geweest bij het team van Red Bull Racing. Horner: "Het is een ander probleem dat wij eerder dit seizoen met de remmen hadden. Het is niet ideaal voor Daniel qua vertrouwen, maar hij kan hopelijk in Q1 een aantal ronden neerzetten en zijn ritme hervinden."

Op de vraag waar het team in Monaco staat zegt hij: "Ferrari ziet er goed uit hier en het zelfvertrouwen van Sebastian Vettel is sky high. Mercedes ziet er kwetsbaar uit, zowel op donderdag als vanochtend. Als wij een perfecte ronde kunnen neerzetten dan is de tweede rij op de grid wellicht mogelijk voor ons."
