Alonso vindt aanhoudende problemen vermoeiend

Fernando Alonso keert volgende week terug achter het stuur van de McLaren MCL32. De Spanjaard liet de Grand Prix van Monaco schieten om deel te nemen aan de Indy 500. De tweevoudig wereldkampioen Formule 1 ervoer op de Indianapolis Motor Speedway eindelijk weer eens hoe het is om competitief te zijn. Dat smaakte naar meer.

In de Formule 1 hoeft Alonso dat voorlopig niet te verwachten. Dat vreet aan hem, zo laat hij aan EFE weten. "Ik ben gelukkig, ik mis alleen het competitief zijn in de Formule 1. Met de Honda-motor die we hebben kunnen we niet ons volledige potentieel benutten en dat is frustrerend. Je geeft telkens alles dat je hebt en dan gaat er weer iets stuk, dat is soms wel vermoeiend."

Hij hoopt op betere tijden. "Voor de toekomst, te beginnen in Canada, blijven we proberen om ons te verbeteren. De auto presteert alsmaar beter, getuige mijn zevende startplek in Barcelona en het feit dat McLaren in Monaco met beide wagens Q3 haalde. In de tweede seizoenshelft zullen we meer competitief zijn", verklaarde Alonso aan de Spaanse krant Marca.

Flinke cheque

De Spanjaard verdiende met zijn deelname aan de Indy 500 iets meer dan 300.000 dollar. Dat is niet misselijk, vindt ook Alonso. "Dit moet ik aan mijn collega's in de Formule 1 vertellen. Dat hebben ze goed geregeld in de IndyCar. Ik kan me zo voorstellen dat meer Formule 1-coureurs hierdoor gaan overwegen om de oversteek te maken", besluit hij tegenover RTL.

Ik heb enorm veel respect voor Alonso en gun hem alle goeds, maar ik vind deze uitspraak dan weer niet echt gepast. En zullen ze bij Liberty ook niet erg leuk vinden.

  Geld is leuk maar danmoet je wel met die lelijke bakken al die walgelijke ovals af.
  
  Bovendien kunnen F1-coureurs na hun 35e of 40e ook nog altijd tien jaar in de Indycars mee.

Snap best dat ie de problemen vermoeiend vindt..........Hij laat elke keer zijn beste kant zien in de auto en, ook in de Indy, laat de Honda hem gewoon in de steek.................

Gewoon die Honda Indycar motor nemen ipv van dit F1 hondehok, Nando :P
Misschien niet betrouwbaar, maar igg wel competief.. met beedje mazzel houd ie het wel een race uit.

Na 3 jaar beschamende resultaten met dit Blok, zou je ze haast oogluikend zo'n swap gunnen ;-)

  Het blok is zo betrouwbaar als jezelf wilt, in Indy kregen ze de keuze tussen betrouwbaar en -20 pk of risico en +20 pk.

3 ton is wisselgeld voor een topcoureur als Alonso, die racet allang niet meer voor het geld maar wil "gewoon" winnen en in een goede auto racen.

Klopt Alonso, en dit bevestigd dat je zoals de Spaanse media en Franse media weten te melden dat je ingesprek bent met Renault voor een drie en een half jaar contract ingaande De race van Spa. En dat Palmer er dus echt uit vliegt en Button het jaar afmaakt bij McLaren.
