Max Verstappen: "Bewolkt weer is beter voor achterbanden"

Voor de start sprak Max Verstappen nog kort met Jack Plooij van Ziggo Sport. De jonge Nederlander start de Grand Prix van Canada als vijfde. Ondanks de hoge temperaturen verwacht de jonge Nederlander geen grote problemen met de banden, mede omdat het niet geheel zonnig is in Montreal.

Op het moment van schrijven is het bijna 29 graden op het Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. De voorspelde regen in de aanloop naar het weekend zal niet gaan vallen. Wat is het plan van Verstappen voor de race: "Er is veel wind vandaag en het is bewolkt. Dat bewolkte weer is gunstig, dan gaan de achterbanden er minder snel aan. De wind maakt het in de eerste twee sectoren wat lastig, je hebt dan meer onderstuur. Iedereen heeft daar last van, we zitten dus in hetzelfde schuitje. Voor de race heb ik niet echt een plan. Ik moet zorgen dat ik een goede start heb en vanaf daar zien we wel wat er mogelijk is."
