Engineer vergelijkt Magnussen met Raikkonen

Haas F1-coureur Kevin Magnussen vertoont veel dezelfde karaktertrekken als Ferrari-rijder Kimi Raikkonen. Dat stelt zijn race-engineer Giuliano Salvi. Hij werkt nu met Magnussen bij Haas F1, maar eerder was hij engineer voor coureurs als Michael Schumacher, Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso en Kimi Raikkonen bij Ferrari.

Van dat viertal doet Magnussen hem het meest denken aan Raikkonen. Salvi zegt in Ekstra Bladet: "Kevin is heel eerlijk en direct, dat bevalt me wel. Als karakter herinnert hij me sterk aan Kimi Raikkonen. Ze hebben allebei een Scandinavische persoonlijkheid. Hoe kan ik het formuleren? Ze geven niks om politiek en ze verschuilen zich niet achter een masker."

"De eerste indruk kan misleidend zijn, omdat ze niet gelijk een connectie met je maken. Maar als je met ze werkt en ze beter leert kennen, blijkt dat ze zeer open zijn. Ze zijn net katten. Je ziet het wanneer ze bang of boos zijn. Dat is goed. Je weet precies wat ze denken of hoe ze zich voelen. Nooit heb je na een vergadering met Kevin het gevoel dat hij iets achter heeft gehouden of iets anders heeft gezegd dan wat hij vindt. Nee, hij zegt gewoon waar het op staat."
